Current juke isn't really good at anything besides rhyming with puke.

How much seat time you have in a Juke?

test drove the MT. i was looking to buy one a while back, but decided against it. it drove fine, light clutch, easy to drive but not really fast, terrible cargo space, rear seat room and foot wells cramped, not sure wat its strengths were besides the funky look.

id get the fiesta ST over it or the abarth for dat price if MT. and u still get ford and fiat's translations of funky comical look which actually looks better dan the juke..

I'll agree it is ergonomically bad, but the performance was pretty good in my experiences with the car. I had loads of fun in it but I preferred the AWD with CVT. YES I said it. Nissan's best cvt tune if all time is in the Juke. In fact, it's the only car with a cvt I truly like. Nissan hit it with the Juke AWD

kenchan 10-03-2016 11:08 PM

CVT isn't necessarily bad on turbo cars. Continuous turbo pressure. I wonder how much power it can handle though.

Hey I resemble that!, and actually my Juke is my winter beater which is very good in the snow. Not a lot of people can say the have a 2014 Juke nismo awd winter beater, I can.

Oh and is a fun winter beater even with the cvt which I can turn into a virtual 7 speed ;)

There was a guy on Juke forums that had 200 All Wheel Horsepower and was not slipping. Same dude said from his experience of what he saw the engine would give before the cvt

Are juke nismo's rare in ur area? My local dealers had a bunch of dem on sale couldn't sell dem until dey were going for like 21k or something dirt cheap. For awd I'd go for subaru and do it right the first time. Is 200whp a big deal?

I would think the cvt would be able to handle at least 350HP if its the same as the altima n maxima?
If his engine was giving out, he possibly had to have done something wrong in the mod process with only 200awhp on it.?.

I haven't followed cvt transmissions since my 08 altima 3.5se which wasn't bad.... but the Juke is on top with that.

kenchan 10-04-2016 06:32 AM

those altima cvt's are notorious for failures, no?

going back to topic though, this segment is really for those dat can only afford one car. dat means it needs to be able to do daily tasks well including carrying family and cargo. not sure why juke was even mentioned cause dey suck as a family car, yet not fast enough to call it a performance anything either (juke-r different story). it stuck itself into its own little niche.

its like they came in 1st place cause it was da only participant in da race.. da only commitment i see in the juke is der odd-ball looks.

Was not his engine, was one he saw on a dyno being retuned. They apparently turned the boost to 22lbs and BANG clatter clatter.... Oops! Could have been a variety of issues that caused it.

Kenchan, Nissan has had cvts for over ten years now and supplied by Jetco which is partially controlled by Nissan through shares. They did indeed used to be crap but are being perfected over time. Most people only comment when things go wrong which is why most of what you hear online is garbage.

And that "niche", is why we now have a variety of copycats made by Jeep, Fiat, Buick... Thank you Nissan for another industry first.

And as for rarity, I see a few here and there, but mostly basic Jukes on a daily basis. The reason most people do not go with the RS is because most people can't stand the hard Recaro Seats.

Sometime people do not want something that other people already have an over abundance of, which is why i bought a Z instead of the 10 million mustangs already on the road, plus I wanted a Nissan. If I wanted to follow the majority to fit in, I would have a Rustang and Subie in my driveway. What I have is different. Paying a bit more for it is fine by me.

To get back on topic, the above last comment is another reason why a sporty Sentra will sell too, some people want something different.

I seriously doubt other manufacturers copied the juke..

The Juke was conceptually an industry first.

Just like Nissan was the first to put DRM on an automatic transmission and SRM on a manual as with a lot of Nissan industry firsts. It's ok if u have hate for all the non Z Nissan's you want to. But give props where props is due.

NISMO IX 10-04-2016 06:31 PM

Also, first to make a midsize pickup and midsize crew cab. And yet again, Chevy, dodge, ford, and Toyota followed.

Here's an in depth review of the sentra. In the end they hint at an SE-R and Nismo coming in these months. If that's the case like I expected? This is why I feel comparing the SR to a GTi is premature. Though I don't think the sentra will ever be a GTi killer this generation. It gives Nissan loyalists a more entertaining option to purchase.
