I think it depends on how easy it is to extract power from the new engine. That's why the old Supras became so popular. The stock car wasn't much better

I think it depends on how easy it is to extract power from the new engine. That's why the old Supras became so popular. The stock car wasn't much better than 300zxs or 3000GTs from the same time, they just made loads of power easily with bolt-ons.
