My experience about the c7; it's just too much of a car for where I live right now. Backroad carving is NOT what it was built for, sure it does it well but the Z is way more at home, maybe it has to do with dimensions but I feel like the c7 is built for states with long flat wide roads, I can't imaging how out of place a c7 would be at the dragon.

This is my impression of the C7 on the street in economy mode, Or as DD feels like a glorified fast comfortable Camry? Lol because I drive a camry.
Dial in to a sport or track mode this is like David Banner transforming into a green Incredible Hulk via notch of a dial with matching growl of open quad pipes. Then start praying for your passengers safety! Lol Last edited by Zoren 370; 02-25-2017 at 10:06 PM. |

My comparison wasn't against a stock Z either. When I had my Z down at the dragon, it had swift springs, eibach sways, custom alignment, full bolt-ons, and a tune. It would take MUCH more than that to make it comparable to the C7. The biggest advantage for the Z is definitely the price. LOL @ Mustang mentality. When you're trying to explain why you'd rather have a modded Z over a C7 and make statements like "better isn't always better", maybe you should look in the mirror about that Mustang mentality. ![]() Quote:

[QUOTE=b1adesofcha0s;3620595]Ok fair point about first impressions. However, as someone who has owned both cars for an extensive period I can tell you for sure that the C7 is definitely not "out of place" on the dragon. I will definitely say that statement is not true.

1. Maybe 460HP may be a lot for some people to handle in the corners with how wide the car is... 2. Maybe the car might have too costly maintainable for some buyers. 3. Maybe people are searching for more analog experiences I.e. lotus evora or 4C. We established the corvette is a superior vehicle to the Z. But better isn't always better was referring to what people may demand out of their car. You not being able to still decipher what I meant and me have to explain the mustang mentality is proof of your "get off my lawn, mustang mentality". Cuz by saying better isn't always better I was talking about what kind of characteristics I want from my car. That's what I'm having a hard time with when it comes to my Z. That Alfa Romeo Giulia seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. But I want it low slung n in 2 doors and a hatch. That's why I beat off to that 6c sketch every night. Wishing and hoping for something like that in a low slung coupe with Giulia performance. Another car that makes me nut that would be great in a RWD hatch is the AMG GLA/CLA45 Those are the characteristics I'm looking for, just analog. I'm praying someone does it without the electronic crap. While my experience behind a corvette GS was phenomenal. I know what stirs my soul. To me a v8 car like that is a secondary goal after the kind of car I just described. Everyone has their preferences.

The only statement that I was strongly disagreeing with was that the C7 would be out of place on the dragon. As the only one here who's driven both cars on the dragon, I think my opinion carries a little more weight in that discussion. Now whether you enjoy the Z or the C7 more depends on your preferences, but that doesn't mean either of them are out of place. Just a ridiculous statement IMO. If you want a Giulia that's low slung and has 2 doors, why not look at the 4C? It's more similar to the Z than a Giulia. It's got that sexy Alfa look, more analog feel, and sports car dimensions. Seems like everything you're looking for. It's in the same price range as the C7 if your looking at new ones there. I thought about getting one too, but the desire for a V8 was too strong.

It did take a little bit of time to adjust to the size of the C7 compared to the Z, but I got used to it in like a week. Once you get past that initial phase, it doesn't actually feel so big when you're hitting the back roads spiritedly. FYI I have a Z51 with the magnetic ride option. Had the same PSS tires on both cars, but obvioiusly in different sizes. I don't know exactly where or how you drove a C7, but having owned both cars I would say you're absolutely wrong about the C7. I enjoy it more on backroads than I did the Z and it has no issues with tight backroads. I was able to open it up plenty on the dragon. It built so much more confidence in my driving that I consciously had to hold myself back because I was afraid to go any faster.

I don't think it's fair to say HES WRONG. He just has a different opinion. As an owner you have accustomed yourself. He's based on a first impression. I can see how his first impression left him feeling that way though my experience was way more positive. Better isn't always better. I still felt more connected to my Z on my first time driving a Z than my first time driving a vette. I never had to get used to a Z from the first ride. When you desire something really bad, you adjust. When you don't get an awesome first impression. You don't. You gotta get over your mustang mentality bruh.

The corvette packs double the power of my Z with less the weight so go figure how the vett does when you drive it. It's a bullet with 4 wheels. Longer wheelbase makes it less nimble as the Z. But once I get more driving time with my vette, I'm sure I'll be able to control this beast. The C7 vette is certainly a different type of car, I love my 370 but the vette hits the sweet spot like a G spot. Ask a satisfied girl and you know what I mean. Kudos.
