You'll be able to snag one of these grand sport Vettes for $50k in 2-3 years. I guarantee it. That's also the depreciation threshold where it's an incredible sports car value and a great time to jump on one.

They're awesome sports cars, but they're still a GM product.

I think it's going to take a little longer than that based on what I've seen with used C7 prices the last few years. Completely base GS might hit $50k in 3 years at the very low end. If you want any other options though it's probably going to be more around $55-60k. As far as it being a GM product, this is not the same GM from years ago. They have made massive improvements in quality and you can really see the difference with the C7.

You could really make that same argument for any car though. It's always better financially to buy a 2-3 year old used car than it is to buy new, unless you really need the warranty and/or any free maintenance included.

There are many improvements from GM, but the same idiosyncrasies are still there. There's still some of that GM stigma in terms of dealing with recalls and uncooperative dealerships, fighting for warranty coverage and small quality control issues like you would find in Hyundai. Not taking away credit from GM, the likelihood of me buying a GM product is 10x higher than say 2 years ago. More likely to buy a GM car than another Nissan if I was buying out of the Z/GTR lineup. My eye is on the GS and the mid engines vette. But not without reservation in certain areas.

GM DOES IT AGAIN!!!

The mid engine vette that was said to be a $150,000 car when it comes out, will be released in 20!8 as a $80,000 car, completely decimating any reason to buy a Ford GT. So I'm guessing it's Z06 versions of the mid engine will be $110,000 and it's GS about $95,000. The Germans, Italians and Asians all have to worry. Especially if for a few G's more GM adds AWD... WHAAAAT????!!!

Rest in peace NSX

You have those kind of issues with almost every car though. I have only had mine for a little over 3 months, but I haven't noticed any issues like that yet. There was a very minor memory seat TSB that the dealer fixed with a software update in under an hour and for free. Other than that it's been perfectly fine.

I would take those rumors with a big grain of salt. Don't believe those rumors until you actually hear something from GM themselves. The mid engine corvette rumors have literally been coming out for decades now.

Look for down sized motors with turbo's from everyone starting in 2017, and a lot of the bigger motors to be gone from the line-ups in 2018. That's to the feds.

V8's will live with GM. Their v8 reaches 29mpg .
Plus they're the v6 and turbo that hits wellover 30mpg
The fuel effociency of GM probably supersedes 90% of all car companies.

I feel you. For some it's gonna take a while. I'm a former GM owner. I'm loving it like crazy but I'm a skeptic. Truth be told electric steering has hindered me from purchasing anything. I DESPISE THAT NEW TECHNOLOGY with all my guts. It's made sports cars lifeless. 30% of the sensory experience is gone. It outages me. And the media can't brainwash me into believing it's as good as hydraulic. I drive hydraulic every day. I know what I'm missing out on the second I drive electric steering cars.

Yeah my C7 is giving me a little better mileage than my Z did even with 2 extra cylinders, +130 hp, +200 tq. The rest of GM's lineup will help bring the avg mpg up across the brand.

It's my first GM car and I have no real complaints yet. In terms of driving experience, the car is phenomenal. Gonna have tons of fun with I at ZDayZ next week.

Yeah but there's a moving prototype bruh. Not just sketches are parts bin junk put together as a pseudo concept. It's out and testing. That's sick. And there's just a lot more chatter. Real type chatter. I feels it in my bones.
