Main page is updated. lets get a list going and pull some of your buddies strings and get them in on this. Lets get a huge turn out on this fella's. Lets make this a 10+ meet.

I have a friend from work with a datsun 2000 that wants come along. so, the list looks like:
1. CBtech 2. Tempestz 3. Alex Cote (non forum member) has 68 datsun 2000 |
Quote:
2. Tempestz 3. Alex Cote 4. SuperDave 5. 1st 6. Myotorsports |
First page post looks great. Thanks for coordinating the meeting spot and times CB. Everyone else, if you haven't looked, GO LOOK. All the logistics are there. We are scheduled to "drive across the finish line" at a specific time to donate toys and take pictures. Also note, this is a rain or shine event, they have a backup plan for the event to be in the parking garage if it is raining (I'm looking at you Ninja...). They also encourage bringing kids if you have em. Let's make this awesome!

Let's see, taking the car out in December with a 0.01% chance of rain means Ninjas out. Meeting at 8am means Shoelace will still be up drinking from the night before so he's out...:ohsnap1::ninja3: C'mon guys, prove me wrong! |

Was google image searching 68 Datsun 2000 and came across this. The owner of THIS CAR is named Eric, and he lives in Modesto. That's as far as a google search got me. CB, MB37, see what you can find out, this car is :leghump:

I'll bring my DSLR to the rally for kids thing. I'll try to be a paparazzi to get as many photos as possible. I have a 64gb card, but my battery only lasts for ~500 pics. Should be plenty though

Whats up all, was doing some forward looking at track schedules for next year; this is Nasa Norcal's current schedule for next year. Id like to do one or two track weekends before it starts to get hot and am looking at the Feb Sonoma run. I know its fairly close after Christmas but I am going to try to make it happen. Anyone interested? It would be awesome to learn a new track along with one of you guys, plus you always meet some cool people, who knows, might be some other 370Zs there. :stirthepot:
------------------------------ 2014 Official NorCal Season Schedule Updated 121/22/13 The August date has been changed from Aug 16-17 to Aug 30-31 2014 NASA Nor Cal Calendar February 15-16 Sonoma Raceway March 15-16 Sonoma Raceway April 26-27 Thunderhill Raceway May 24-25 Thunderhill Raceway June 14-15 Sonoma Raceway August 30-31 Thunderhill Raceway September 27-28 Sonoma Raceway October 25-26 Sonoma Raceway November 7-9 Sonoma Raceway (Championships) December 6-7 Thunderhill Raceway (25 Hour) -------------------------------- :driving: |
I was actually looking up track days at Thunderhill. Haven't even thought about going to Sonoma. Are these track events a full two day thing? Depending on my work schedule, I can only go either a Sat or Sun, but sadly not both =\
|
Yea they last 2 days but you can register for either day individually as well (well, on the east coast I know you could register for just Saturday and I am pretty sure just Sunday too). I'm sure I will be going to thunderhill as well this year but Sonoma is pretty close... and we can get some practice in on Forza! Lol
Oh and don't bother looking at any track web pages for accurate schedules... seems like no one ever updates them. Gotta look at the actual racing organizations sites, such as NASA. |
Well for Thunderhill I was looking at the Grip Drift Skid group that goes there, but they only have 6 events for next year.

The hooked on driving events are usually accurate. Been to a few of them at Thunderhill. Down for doing one again.

Yeah, an oil cooler is on the list for my next mod, but so damn expensive =\ When I find out my schedule in the new year, I'll find out for sure which ones I can go to.

Oil Cooler Kits - Oil Cooler Kit with Thermostat the only thing i would suggest is getting the hoses professionally clamped or prefabbed. Everything works like a charm on mine and you're not spending a ridiculous price on a "brand named" oil cooler kit that does the same sshit as the above kit does. |
Yeah you definitely need an oil cooler and better brake fluid and possibly pads. As Feb gets closer I'll be sure to check back in with you all. Its not like we wont be seeing e/o anyway. Anybody else planning on going to any track events or questions or ideas/whatever, let me know. Enjoy Thankgiving! Hopefully you guys get a long weekend. By the way, if the helmet is what holds you back (it is a bit of cash) I have a spare one hardly used that you could barrow. It fits me well, snug but not tight and I wear a 7-1/4" hat (translates to medium/large)

Ran across this: STILLEN Gold Series Oil Cooler Kit - Performance 400643 | STILLEN
Stillen is running sale prices on oil coolers this coming Saturday too. |
Hooked on driving rents helmets at their events. $25 for the day.

Can I just wear my motorcycle helmet? Lol

The helmet you need for a track event has to be a snell 2010 approved or higher. Some motorcycle helmets will work. Some are only DOT approved though. So just check it out and see if it's approved.
Yeah oil cooler is the next thing on my list! I'll check those things out. Thanks guys. CB- that oil cooler from race parts warehouse. You just bought the kit and had the fittings crimped and that's all you needed to do? That's an awesome deal |
