Local Puget Sound Track?

I'm looking for a local track in the area that I could take my car to. Does anyone know any local ones? How much does it normally cost? Do I need to take a course/training?

This would be my first time with my stock 370z.

Thanks.

The Ridge Motorsports Park is the newest in the area. Check out there website to find which clubs are renting the track and then contact them about there requirements. I have been out several times with HOD, they have a beginner class at each of there HPDE days or the Ridge has there own classes.

GREAT VIDEO!! The lap timer is killer. Will definitely be in for this next season. What modifications did you have to do to the car to get on the track?

06PlatinumG 11-06-2012 12:49 AM

You don't have to do any mods to get on the track. You only need a helmet, at least half of your brake pads left and good tread on your tires.

After your first time and you start driving faster you will want to upgrade your brake pads and fluid. There are many mods you can do to make your car handle better but your car will handle the track great stock.

Come out and have some fun and enjoy driving the car for what it was built for.

Here's another video from October, won't be back out until spring :(

How bout we meet up and roll out together next season..:excited:

Both Pacific Raceways and The Ridge have winter programs. I think Pacific calls them test and tune days, you don't pay until you get there so if you wake up and the sun is out you go. The ridge has weather warriors program where if it looks like the weather is going to be good they schedule a day and send out an e-mail.

I can post up next time I'm headed out and we can hook up if you want.

there was a club that ran super cheap track days (like $60) at Bremerton Motorsports Park, Bremerton MotorSports Park

Can't remember the club any more but that 'track' is also a great place to learn as a first time lapper since it is a runway with plenty of run off and a course designed with cones.

I'd rather do the other 2 road courses but wouldn't rule this one out for getting your feet wet.

Found the club I had run with a few times, prices went up but still are pretty cheap for seat time.

Thanx for the info! Just emailed the coordinator..

Bremerton is not a bad place to start if you have never done any track driving and want to see how your car handles at speed but once you've driven the Ridge or Pacific Raceways you will find it boring

I've done many autocross events in the past. Never have I track a vehicle so I'm pretty excited for the next event. I can't wait to actually able to open it up and spin out..lol

Btw- any updates on next event?

Well the 2013 season is here and the good news is that NASA now has a Northwest region. I will be partisapating in HPDE this year with them and then move to Time Trials next year, I have to figure out there point system for classing in TT. If your interested in taking your car to the track they should be a good group to work with and they have 4 levels of HPDE with intructors for level 1 & 2. They have dates at all four of the NW tracks. Check out their website

Excellent news, thanks for the link. Getting ready for June 1-2 at the The Ridge. Hope to see some folks out at the track.

06PlatinumG 05-08-2013 09:25 PM

Went out for the first event that NASA has held in the NW last weekend. Any of you that are thinking about going to the track for the first time I would recomend them. They have four HPDE classes and have instructors for everyone in the HDPE 1 group. They were well organized and have events at all the NW tracks. New month they are at The Ridge.

Here's a few laps around Pacific Raceway

NASA had their 3rd event in the NW this last weekend at PIR in Portland. Only one Z and my G. Need to see some more of you out there. Was hoping to see JDHeart but he wasn't there

Oh I was there, lol. Unfortunately, my Z did not survive Saturday so I was forced to pack up and head home with my broken car. Lost my clutch on Saturday during the third session and didn't want to risk additional damage by trying to push the car any further. I promise, PIR has not seen the last of me. Hope you had a great Sunday and I will post up when I can play again. right now, I am looking at hitting PIR again for the NASA day in October.

SLVRSRFR 07-18-2013 09:18 PM

Do you have to be part of a club to go out at PIR or just kind of show up for the event and run.

This past weekend was an event with NASA and you do have to be a member with them to participate. It is very easy to join and only requires a small enrollment fee to get in. Most events are put on by various clubs so you just have to join it and sign up for the event you want. This was my first year with NASA but I have been with other (sportbike) clubs before and they put on a pretty great event.

JDHeart, I was looking a the pictures from this weekend and see that you must have been there on Saturday, I'm planning on both days at Pacific in September. Hope to see you there.

How did the new tires work out

New tires were great, once I got into my third session they seemed to really come in and I can still see the evidence of just how sticky they got.

I will be trying to make it to Pacific in September and maybe PIR again in October. Still quite a bit of work left to get my Z back running again. Fortunately, I towed it to Portland so I was able to get it home. Just ordered quite a few parts and supplies so the Z will live again very soon.

What happened?

JDHeart 07-19-2013 09:39 AM

I appear to have boiled away a good bit of my clutch fluid and lost the pedal, we tried to bleed it there at the track and couldn't get it back. I am going to wrap the new HFCs and install a new insulated clutch line and get it back.

Sorry you won't be able to make it out to Pacific. It will most likely be my last track day of the year, still have 5 auto-x events left also.
