Well as it turns out, I may be done for the year as well. Was going to try for the last NASA PIR but now I am stuck on duty that weekend. Work got me again.

Hooked on Driving has one more event at the Ridge October 7th, a Monday. I have been out with them several times and they are well organized. Closer to home for you also.

Here's my best lap at Pacific last weekend, ran 1:46 all day when there wasn't traffic. Couldn't get into the 45's

When I had my 370 (a few years ago) I ran at Pac with the Porsche club and T2Lapping. Not too many 370s were running at the track at that time so it is good to see some of my Z acquaintances finally getting out there.

I went to the car in my sig block (avatar was my 370 (in front of a bunch of 911s)) and really enjoy track days. After my upcoming cage/race seats/6p-harness renovation I'll be back at the Ridge for Winter warrior days hosted by T2Lapping (Tom Pritchett). Those events are really hard to beat from a cost/safety/quality standpoint. I hope to see some of you out there.

It's that time, June 7th at the Ridge Motorsports Park with NASA. Anyone going to be there?

JDHeart 05-21-2014 11:20 AM

I will be there both days.

06PlatinumG 05-21-2014 08:54 PM

Great, I can only be there on the 7th. I have an autocross event in Bremerton on the 8th and since I compete the whole year there I can't miss. What group are you signed up for with NASA?

JDHeart 05-24-2014 12:17 AM

I will be running HPDE 3 that weekend. You?

06PlatinumG 05-25-2014 12:12 AM

Same, HPDE 3. Looking forward to it, hope the weather works out. See you there

Spec Jay 05-27-2014 10:15 PM

I'll be ordering my oil cooler, brake lines, pads and tires next week then I should be out to play at the ridge whenever I get back from traveling. who has the cheapest events for beginners?

06PlatinumG 05-27-2014 11:30 PM

NASA is a good place to start, $199 for one day with an instructor. HPDE 1

NASA NorthWest | We Drive Harder

JDHeart 05-27-2014 11:48 PM

NASA is where I got my start with the car. They have a really good setup going and in the past, I've seen the instructors take their students out in their own cars as well.

06PlatinumG 06-07-2014 09:48 PM

JD, great meeting you today and good luck tomorrow. I had a new personal best time of 2:04 today, I also sent you a PM on the brake pads

JDHeart 06-08-2014 10:33 PM

Great to meet you as well, Sunday went a good bit faster for me but the brakes were still I big issue. I still managed to get down around the 2:05 and 2:06 range. Looking forward to another shot with some brakes I don't set nearly on fire, lol.

OK, if any of you are really serious about a track day read the information below from NASA, this is a good deal for a chance to take your car on the track

We are offering a new INTRODUCTORY session on Saturday July 19th known as HYPERDRIVE! Hyperdrive is a great way for new drivers to get on track and test the waters for minimal cost! The Hyperdrive event will include a ground school, one session of track orientation and etiquette, and one FULL HPDE 1 session. NASA membership is NOT required to participate in HYPERDRIVE and the cost is only $99. Anyone over the age of 18 with a valid drivers license may participate.

I was waiting for the summer season to end for the cheaper track days......now all those cheaper track days don't exist....

06PlatinumG 12-07-2014 05:13 PM

2015 schedules should be out soon. Not to many deals for track time and costs at the Ridge are going up this year. I'll post the NASA an Hooked on Driving schedules later. For now here is another video from PIR. Trying to run down a Cayman R

Another opportunity to get on the track. The SCCA has a new program they call Track Nights. They have four dates at the Ridge and also dates for PIR. An hour of track time for $150 They have groups for novice to advanced

Track Night in America

Spec Jay 04-16-2015 02:49 AM

Nice! I'm in process of finishing my boost build right now. Hoping to be done early may. Who do you usually run with? PCA? turn 2?

06PlatinumG 04-16-2015 06:31 PM

I have been out with Hooked on Driving and NASA. Since NASA is not doing anything in the NW this season I'm planning on a couple HOD and I think I will go to one of the SCCA events at the Ridge and see how that goes. I have never been out with Turn2 but have heard good things and PCA is a little harder to get in on if you don't have a Porsche but there are ways around that if you know someone or join the club with a fake Porsche.

Turn 2 is about $300 for 4-5 30 minute sessions during the day. Essentially a similar cost but during the day.

Holy crap its Bruce! haha. I was actually gonna give you a call when my build is done. How have you been? hows the 996?

All good and the 996TT is ready for some track time! Tuned to 500hp/torque plus some other goodness...haha! I was out last year but am going to get as much time as possible this year/season. I'll be at T2 on 5/2 for starters.

Nice, I should be putting down about that much also. Don't think I'll be done by 5/2 but I may come down to chat and watch maybe catch a ride?

Is your phone number still the same?

Yep same #....I didn't point it out earlier but at T2 you can take a passenger....depends on track experience though. Spec Jay you are welcome to ride along on 5/2. It’s pretty cool to just show up and check out the cars; there's some serious crazy high end stuff that shows up.

Anyone interested in getting started in Auto-X, Bremerton Sports Car Club is having a novice school on May 24th. This is a great opportunity to learn more and then follow up the next day at there second event of the year. Follow the attached link for more details
