It sound like you should try a rest of the head unit. If that does not work it is time to call kenwood.

I have not, in my experience pyle just does not make things that hold up well. I would check out some of the neat screens they have at crutchfield. Or maybe even integrate one into your sun visor?

I just bought a used car, and it has a stock stereo in it, but as it is used, it may have had an aftermarket headunit before. I know it has stock door speakers. Anyhowl;

The problem is, while the car is off, and sitting, it will intermittantly make a popping noise, like a "power to the speaker, then non" bass hit. Something like once every 5 minutes. It is draining my car, so when I get in, it has a weak battery.

car is a 2006 porsche 911 Carrera S. Bad ground somewhere?
Hmm sounds either like you have a power gremlin and or your radio is draining a lot more power than it should. I think that car has a bose system. Either way the stock amps relay could be stick in the closed position allowing power to be drained while the car is off.

Fanat,
Nah, the Bose was a factory option, this one doesn't have it (thankfully). When I was uninstalling the Factory radio, I noticed pry marks on it from being removed (poorly) before. I imagine the owner before me had an aftermarket stereo in the car, and put the stock one in for resale. Anyhow, taking apart the center console, it appears the owner had spilled coffee into the radio, and was causing a grounding short, and thus the power drain. Replacing the stereo with my Kenwood Excelon DNX9140 did the trick. Looks great in the car too.

I was gonna say, when my PC was hit by a power surge it would pop the speakers every few seconds (even though it was powered off)... sounds like something was shorted out. Replacement is your best/only option.
