Dammit. I thought about that this morning on my way into work. Only have 2 jack stands -_-. Would your friend be opposed to me possibly being an inconvenience and using his lift for a bit?? I can provide money or beer or breakfast or something if needed

His lift is at his business. I had to schedule something during business hours and everything ya know. Not like at his house or whatnot. That would have been easier but oh well it got done lol he hated me later considering it took 4 hours to get the demon bolts on the cats off lol

YouTube channel name is the same as my name on here. Fpenvy.

Damn. Hmm maybe I'll have to find some rhino ramps or something I guess.

Also I found it and have been going through some of your exhaust vids. That thing sounds mean but LOUD. I will make it a point to hear it in person one day.

Well you may have to wait to hear it in all it's glory. Just put the mufflers back on since I need to get my inspection/emissions done this month lol

This is my main reason for not wanting to touch too much on the exhaust side. Such hassle involved in getting inspected etc. Ran into that with my GTI but it's not my issue anymore :D

Hoping my gf's dad has another set of stands available. Just got 2 from him a few weeks ago so maybe he has some extras lying around I can use for a few hours

PittRace is having a HPDE on the 25th. Just checked the list of who is signed up for it. Have 2 Z's so far. :D Rich Venturella in a '09, and Ryan O'Connor in a '14. I'm signing up later today for Group 2.

Meant to comment in here earlier. Got the exhaust installed over the weekend. Took me a hell of a lot longer to get the stock exhaust off than expected because the bolts were so rusted. I wound up having to pull the mid pipes off with the muffler because even with penetrating oil the bolts were just rounding.

Other than that I had my gf help so it was nice to have a second set of hands. The tips aren't lined up in the back but after the ordeal to get the stock one off I didn't care to take everything back off. Did some adjustments on Sunday so the midpipes don't rattle on the cross member. All in all loving the exhaust

ARK Grip v2

Next year I'll probably get some Motordyne ART pipes or maybe Stillen g3's.

LTH in a few years and most likely powder coating or painting (haven't decided yet) the sport rays

ahhh ok i couldnt remember. i was gonna say if got a fast intentions exhaust there should be zero fitment issues unless it was used and someone beat it up when putting it on or taking off lol

Yeah I don't think it is necessarily a fitment issue just an adjustment that I would need to do. It doesn't bother me enough to go through it again. Maybe later I'll consider it but for now I'm just enjoying it how it is.

No show car but I'll probably talk to the vendor anyway

yea i'm sure with a little bit of testing tht you can get it lined up right.

where's rusty?

how odd is it that yesterday i was looking into doing the track day on the 25th with you guys and this morning while getting a drink at the sunoco on the way to work a guy approaches me (i figured it was about the Z as usual) he says "thats a great car. it sounds great too." he hands me a card he's an instructor at pitt race and said "you should come out on the 25th, i bet you can put down some good laps in that."

i then told him how i was alreayd lookin into it and i've been there many times before. plus i'll throw the real exhaust back on ;) damn thiese mufflers being on for inspection.

I'm frank though lol

I'm just debating if it's worth it to go up there $185 ain't bad but I just don't wanna rape my tires

Rusty 07-16-2014 12:39 AM

You would be in Group 1 with an instructor if it's your first time on the track with a car. So your tires wouldn't take a beatin'. I can run in Group 3, but don't like being passed all the time with some of those monsters. So I run in Group 2.

The head instructor's name is Jack. Drives a white Porsch GT3. Just remembered it. LOL

Registration closes on the 22th. But as now, it's suspended.

yea he told me about registration and to just call.

but i would be in group 1 but i have driven that track before just not balls out. it was when we were doing drag runs on the front straight i would run the course backwards to get back to the staging lane.

plus it's 20 minutes from my house so i've been there a lot for races lol love it there.

Meant to post this on Tuesday. Saw a black 370 on 579 coming from the Cranberry exit going south. Got off at Camp Horne rd and looked like it had an aftermarket front bumper (could be wrong about that). Anyone in here??

There's a base model no mods black cherry 370 that I see at my work in cranberry.

No it's a coupe

I don't use the turnpike during the week. There is another blue 370 but has black wheels running around. Met him once at the Friday car cruise at that church in Wexford

Ok that was probably him then. I thought it was you then immediately realized it couldn't be since I couldn't hear you from the other side of the road.

I saw a newer black cherry around the Monroeville area so maybe it's the same car

i'm in the mood to go to PRP tonight for street racing night :stirthepot:

Man you've had the mufflers on for a while now.

I saw your post in the AAM thread. I followed suit and PMed/Emailed them haha. We'll see if the price is worth it.

well i just havent had time to go see my guy for stickers. to be honest i may leave the mufflers on. just based on butt dyno i feel the straight pipes lost low end TQ (not like the Z has much to begin with lol) and had a little gain on the top end of the revs.

mufflers on with the bit more backpressure is just so much quicker off the line. or maybe i'm just an idiot and it feels that way based on sound? idk lol

maybe i'll have my pops follow me up there tonight with the jack and other tails and do some testing. takes 10 min to swap them out.

as for AAM yea i PM'd him and i would love to do it but again the reason why i dont have boost yet is the fact that i'd have to dump an extra 5-6k on tranny upgrade since i want over 500HP

Not a bad idea. Back to back runs should give you a clear picture. I can see why having the mufflers on would help with the low end torque though. How's the sound in comparison?? Is it noticeably quieter??

I already know that I'd have to dump probably another 2.5 in for clutch and install, plus the kit. If they threw the clutch in for free I'd be more inclined. I'm still waiting on the "heavily discounted price". If I'm still over 5 or 6k I'd rather save the money and buy some new wheels.

I actually need to do a test fit of the 18x8s I picked up a few weeks ago. If those don't clear the brakes then I'm selling those and running the All seasons I have now then buying some new wheels over the winter

seriously the first day after switching back my car sounded like stock in comparison. i mean the gf liked it since we could actually talk again and hear each other....:shakes head:

if you have sport brakes 18x8's may not clear depending on the way the wheel is made.

i was looking at 18x112's to put 315/325 drag radials on but couldnt find much to clear the sport brakes.

I picked up a set of rx8 wheels (not these exact ones) http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...el1771/rx8.jpg

but I think they should clear because of the spokes curve outward slightly (I think). Even if they do fit I may just say forget it and sell them. If they clear the brakes and decide to not bother with them I'll let you know and I can sell them to you if you are only going to use them for track wheels. Bolt pattern is 5x114
