Default Tuning in NYC

Hey whats up guys

I have a bit of a newbie question because.....well.....I am a newbie

In any case, I live in Queens NY and i'd like to know what i can do to make my car fast. Its 2010 Black Cherry 7Automatic. I know with automatic transmission, you really cant do too much as opposed to the manual. But i'd like to know from the experts here what I can do and what I cannot do.

And most importantly.....where in Queens or NYC or Long Island can I go to have this work done to my car?

Thank You

I would do test pipes and a tune if you want to limit your spending, or do I/tp/Exhaust than tune...

Gotta be careful with the test pipes unless you know a shop who will pass you. Agreed on Performance Motorsports.

We've had great success with EFI Logic in CT. They tune GTRs, Subies, Evos, and I know of at least a few 370zs that have been tuned there.

So for an automatic, intake, test pipes and full exhaust? or catback?

It makes no difference if you're an automatic or stick. You're not tuning a transmission, you're tuning a motor. The only things you cannot use as far as bolt-ons are things like aftermarket flywheels and clutches. Also, I'm not sure if 7ATs have an open-diff like 5AT 350Zs did, but if so, bolting-on pumpkins/FD gears requires more work.

Otherwise, all of those standard bolt-ons will give you the same power increases they would for 6MTs. I used to have a 5AT 350Z and I had virtually every bolt-on done.

Btw, your color is ugly. =D

Also, I think RCT in Whitestone tunes. They definitely have a dyno.

UpRev can disable the rear O2 sensors so you will never throw a CEL with test pipes, which is what Performance Motorsports does. Definitely recommend them.

Hey lemme chime in too! lol

Best bang for the buck mod... would be doing a set of test pipes. Or combine that with a nice quality catback exhaust as well. Then tuning it with UPREV. Freeing up the exhaust on the vq37s can free up 10+ rwhp and 10+wtq... we do this setup almost every other day

As far as passing emmisions, do not worry, as stated earlier, if you are uprev tuned we can disable the rear 02 sensors if need be, and we DO inspections at our dealership anyway

shoot me a call at the shop if you want to price out a couple of things and different options to go with on the car 631-366-2152

I will definitely be keeping your shop in mind if/when I do any work on my car in the future!

Funny I tried past the area you're located all the time and I never knew you were there.
