The service history is fine IMO, I don't see anything that is a red flag. Sure it changed hands, but GTRs do. I mean I don't see any major service / maintenance issues here. Anyways, yeah I'll be there.

Also, **** wasn't cheap, it was a 2009 w/17k going for 66,500 from the dealer. So, you'd expect the car to be in great condition. Whatever, I learned my lesson. I really wanted to buy from the dealer because of the warranty issues and they are stating the car hasn't been modded, launched, etc, all under warranty. etc. blah blah.

AND the dealer/sales guy told me this CAR had NEVER BEEN LAUNCHED.

Dealers are all full of sh*t. I would never buy a car like GT-R used - it is an extremely easy car to abuse. Supras. TT 300ZXs. STIs. EVOs. Etc - people abuse the piss out of these cars, and the GT-R will fall into that category. It's relatively cheap to buy and very easy to lease.

But if driven right, they are supposed to be fairly reliable. Nick911SC's dad has a GT-R and he's never had a problem with it, and he drives it almost daily.

I read your thread Ben. What a mess... That sucks, sorry to hear this.

Dealers are scam artists. 2/3 nissan dealerships I've purchase vehicles from were pathetic, and put me through an experience. If you disregard expenses of the car, and consider it's the same sales people who sell GTR's and used Muranos there are no excuses.

Forget warranties man, and maybe the answer is to buy a car from a private party, have the car inspected by a good mechanic you trust, and enter a situation you feel comfortable with, after you satisfied all your concerns. This place sounds like a bad business, and it's a good thing you trusted your gut and got the hell out of there.

There are more GTR's, and that money will go far in a lot of places, keep looking and find the right car man. GL

Arnold , the carfax you originally posted with the miles not going up like they should could of easily been some one rolling back the miles.. car fax wouldn't pick that up as mile fraud unless he went backwards... he could of simply left the car out of the dealer and rolled it back to a little over the last time he was there..

also people who have gtr's may be anal about the car and have it looked at more than normal.. i mean yea it was checked extensively but maybe he wanted to make sure his car was good to go at all times... no reason that changing fluid is a bad thing, its an expensive transmission, maybe he wanted to change it... but the fact that the car was driven 1-2k a month to 1k a year is def a red flag for me.. and i would stay away from that car based on that fact...

as for the car fax on SK's , I see nothing wrong with it at all.. seems like Mercedes prob bought the car to sell, realized it wasn't worth it, wholesaled it , was bought in an auction by "Tims garage" and sold... than that owner sold it... the car is expensive to own, people buy it than realize it and get rid of it... his carfax looks fine to me... I wouldn't of wrote that car off based on that at all...

I am about to check sk's entire story now though, i feel bad before i looked at his thread

Ben, again im sorry to hear about this. Seems like a common problem with dealers. I was also outright lied to about the price of my z by rockland nissan, but the car itself didnt have nearly the problems you experienced with th gtr (except for the bald tires mine had as well). What ny nissan dealership did you have problems with?

I had a bad experience with Advantage Nissan - the finance guy is actually gone (left or fired, they wouldn't say - but didn't sound surprised as my issue) and now and I'm going over next week I believe to possibly remedy an erroneous charge.

Thanks man - I know, crazy in the end. Won't be going with a Nissan at all for the next car. Looking to get rid of the Z soon and probably go Evo or Sti or who knows...I just can't see giving Nissan a penny ... sorry guys.

Don't be discouraged. I hate Nissan dealers as much as the next guy (though I had a pleasure dealing with Legend Nissan with 4 different purchases...look them up on Dealerrater.com). It's not the cars' faults they're tied down to shitty dealers. It's just the sad state of the business of car dealers. I've been to BMW, Benz, Lexus, Audi, and Infiniti dealers who tried to scam or rip me off one way or another.

You will not win anywhere you go. You just have to do some online research using tools like Dealerrater.com to find the best dealership and go there and speak to the most recommended person. The Z is an amazing car, and I don't let these sh*tty dealers get me down about it.
