I like it! I'd trade for it when the time comes.

I'm suprised how good it turned. I'm a supra fan boy. But who isnt. But this Z looks by far better than the bmw supra.
So the looks imo looks great. But the grill I'm not 100% set. But who knows, it might get changed.
But we shall c how it performs when actual numbers comes out and when tuners get a hold of it.

So, as for the 6MT, is it safe to say, they are using the same 6MT as the current 370z? With I'm sure with changes to handle the extra torque

I'll be in my bunk!

I wonder how easy the engine swap would be.

AK!!! Original Lurker salute you, as well!
Lurking around from time to time.

As for The New Z? I still find it need more character.
Side view looks good.

It lacks of that aggressive look and stance. Rear, TBH not fan of those tail lights. Interior, finally Nissan is catching up with 2014/15 technology... that's about it.

Let's wait for the final product. Hopefully Nissan will be reading critics all over the place.

Supra, even thou they are missing the MT, their game plan is slowly working. They have a very quick car, and now they are bringing a "cheaper" but slower, engine, and customer will buy it because the looks are somehow better (definitely better than current outdated Z) and aggressive... Yes, BMW this, BMW that... Nissan has a strong competitor, not counting the used market, and they need to bounce back strong.

Crossing fingers because I'm interested on that twin turbo engine... and Nismo version...

You going to pick up a blue 400z AK? like the MB 370z you had?

DO IT! Your build thread inspired me to get mine.

Love the clean exterior. No unnecessary scoops or vents or FAKE vents. No over-styling that's so prevalent in today's designs.

I'm in the minority in that I like the front. I think if the grille was slightly shorter vertically it would look better, but I get they probably want the cooling. I don't like the innards of the grille itself. I think simplifying that and unifying the top and bottom piece would make the front look better.

Side profile is amazing. The upward angle line on the door is interesting. Very muscular looking car.

The rear is my least favorite. For some reason the retro 300zx look doesn't do it for me. I don't hate it though, it's growing on me. I feel if they stuck with the 240z rear end but modernized it would have suited this car more. If that black bar was slightly taller I think it would make a big difference.

Love the carbon work. Hopefully that's from that new process Nissan has had a breakthrough with and they can actually get that stuff on the car to lighten it up and make it feel a bit more exotic.

Headlights are sweet.

Love the rims (not in that bronze though).

Would be cool to see a production car with that Nissan Z lettering on the tires though of course that won't be there.

Love the brakes. Hopefully that wasn't a proto only thing and that's an option on the car.

Black roof looks great with this design. Be curious to see how the car looks without it, and if it's an option.

Aftermarket will be ALL OVER this car and there will be some HIDEOUS and beautiful outcomes.

Overall car is amazing. Clean and simple in an age of loudness.

^Well said. I agree with all of this. My only concern that’s left will be what the curb weight will be. If this thing is a good weight they’re going to find themselves a customer in me. 3200 or less and I’ll be pleased- may not be realistic though.

I hope they offer a ‘stripper’ version of some sort with all of the performance goodies and curb the luxury features that add weight.

I overall like the styling; thankful that Nissan is not overdoing it, yet paying some homage to the cars some of us lusted over when were were kids. Again, my only "issue" is the grill which I'm slowly beginning to tolerate as I'm beginning to see more and more of the 240/280Z heritage as I review the designs side-by-side. I totally see the "challenges" in trying to combine the heritage look with modern styling: Nissan couldn't put the exterior chrome bumper across it to break down the "wide open" mouth because, well it's the 21st century. Likewise, adding an angle or two the rectangle might modernize it, but you're drifting further and further from the "heritage" element. Maybe Nissan presented it as is, and wanted to see which way the enthusiasts' reactions went. But honestly, if they released production "as-is", I can live with the grille.

Not too concerned with weight, actually hoping they add some cabin quieting goodies as this may be my new commuting DD. Love the interior.

But again - VR30DDTT mated to a manual (something that they should have done with the Q60S - and the reason why I never shopped that car). What a wonderful mill.

Like everything except the square cutout grill, but I suspect that will change for production or that at least there will be different bumper options, so not that concerned.

No way to know until I can see it in person and get one on the road. After all this time, it should be perfection............ I said......... should be.
