This may have already been said but looking at how Nissan/Infiniti put out their cars it would appear that using the Infiniti Q60 as an engine guide we should see 2 engine choices for the New Z35.

1. 4 Cylinder Turbo 241hp for the base model
2. 6 Cylinder Twin Turbo 340hp or so sport model.
3. My speculation 3rd option with Nismo model and how Nissan is really emphasizing the Nismo brand I'm going with a 380hp V6TT with slightly higher boost and a Nismo turbo 3 inch exhaust

Options 1 and 2 are already confirmed for the 2017 Q60. Looking back to theG35/350z days in 2001 where the VQ motor was announced with 280hp for the G35 and then was dropped inthe 350z with slightly more power and Less weight. The 2017 Q60 looks to weigh in around 3700-3900 pounds. My guess is then the new Z will weigh around 3100-3200 pounds for the V6TT model but for the 4 cylinder turbo could weigh in 2900-3100. Leaner and much meaner.

also quit bitching about EPS because Nissan boss said the GTR and Z will have auto drive stuff in them before the end of the decade. it'll just drive itself lol

Figures the guy who wants the car to shift itself would be in favor of the car steering itself.

So the Z35 is supposed to debut in 2017 with a 3.0L turbo motor? Is that the consensus? This sh1t is getting ridiculous Nissan! I've been literally scoping out Mustangs because of this nonsense.

Dude the Mustang is a boat compared to the Z.

Don't get me wrong, the S550 is really pretty good, it's a fun, fast boat, but it's just not the same kind of car. :shakes head:

Also it has EPS. :ugh:

Volk Z, Have the 1st 2 engines been confirmed by Infiniti?

Hopefully the Q60 might come in a little lighter. Current Q50 which is 4 inches longer, weigh in at 3,574 for base and 3,611 for premium.

those engine options 1 & 2 sound good, a little dissapointed for the v6 tt only making 340hp, (I know 'turn up the boost bro' crowd will disagree, but what about us who wish to keep the warranty and keep the car stock, yet keep up with most modern sports cars?), I feel like 380hp for the based and maybe 400-420 for the nismo, and keep both under 3300lbs

I agree.

deftoneZ 11-05-2015 06:28 AM

I do not see a 4 banger option coming. For as much as they constantly talk about the Z and its heritage, keep in mind that no Z has ever had anything other than a 6 of some fashion. I don't see them starting now, there isn't a lot to be gained by it. Look at Hyundai and the Genesis coupe 4, they actually ended up dropping it .. and for good reason.

RicerX 11-05-2015 08:44 AM

The 4 banger turbo four that is listed is available in the Q50 for MY2016 already. It'll show up in the Q60, which means that if the next Z is to share the same platform, they'll be set up to accommodate multiple engine options.

They still have to greenlight the idea, but the architecture is there for them to go with it.

GZ3 11-05-2015 08:48 AM

really hope they dont, but if it means getting a proper Z back in the market then I guess its not a big deal.

FPenvy 11-05-2015 08:50 AM

Nissan need to release info pretty soon. i'm about over this waiting around nonsense.

I want info dammit!

Nismo engine would be the MB c450AMG engine. 362hp. Maybe add 5 to 8 more horsepower for the Nissan tuned exhaust. So 368 to 370hp...

No need to speculate engines. We're getting BENZ engines with certain Nissan parts and Nissan ecu tuning.
