Being able to afford it and justifying the price are two different things. If all you got is it’s not as expensive as the BMW errrrr... Supra, you have nothing.

The Z isn’t even in the same stadium, nevermind game as the Z, so let’s not go there.

Also lets not forget that in the short term after launch, MSRP pricing at dealers is gonna be rare/non existent. Markup will be a reality and if recent history in my area (Louisville KY) is any indication, you are likely to need to factor in ~$5-$10k above list depending on demand.

Turbo speed!!?? Why in the F would I care about that? Oh, And that’s not a breathalyzer tube and I’m not blowing into it no matter what you say.... :wtf2:

I’m sure they’ll pull that nonsense, but we’ll be going on what, 13 years waiting for a new Z? I can wait a couple of more months until they come to their senses. I wouldn’t pay a dime over $40,000 out the door for the “performance” package.

It would depend on demand locally, but in the bigger picture, I don't see inflated pricing going down in a couple months. Looking at Supras in my area, they are still marked up ~$3k above MSRP, and they've been out for a while now.

Premium 3.0 MSRP is $54,490 - https://www.oxmoortoyota.com/2021-gr-supra/
Dealer Price is $57,244 - https://www.oxmoortoyota.com/invento...b0c04mw044529/

My point is it's nice to see another generation of the Z, but taking everything into account so far, I can't justify a purchase for a base at ~$45k (conservative estimate). If they do a Nismo, I'm thinking it's gonna be closer to $60k.
If I was swayed to get one, I would pre order one only under the condition that I pay MSRP. To anyone getting one, enjoy it and have fun with it.

I didn't watch the video, so if the term "turbo speed" was said or shown, I'd say that's a misnomer. What would make 100% complete sense to replace the 370Z stupid digital clock is a "turbo boost" gauge. I have to assume that's what it really is.

Good gosh Nissan what have you done:

"Vehicle speed-sensitive electric power steering (electric rack)"

If anyone has driven a Q60 you know how dead the steering in that car feels. It just sucks the life out of the car completely.

I agree 110%. But it's not a surprise. Huge down side for me.

There are a bunch of upgrades everyone is talking about, but electronic variable steering (a MONSTER down grade for a sports car IMO) is being swept under the rug. This change is at least an equal negative to gaining 70hp, for me, IMO. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the new Z outperforms in terms of numbers, but the old 370Z outperforms in terms of driver satisfaction and fun to drive. Just like when BMW and Porsche made the switch. No more true "drivers cars."

Such a bummer.

I agree I'm pretty upset after seeing that. Unless they did some magic the car is ruined with that. I test drove the Q60 and I actually thought the car was dangerous because if the electric steering I couldn't tell how much input I was giving the car. I'd probably kill myself driving it on the highway much less a track with that kinda steering. Everyone who hasn't should find a Q60/Q50 to test drive it with and you'll understand. I'm really bummed with Nissan they gave us a turbo with a manual but couldn't keep the 370z steering I don't understand.

Those who have not seen the 400Z reveal, should.
It is on YouTube.
Again, pretty cheesy. IMO, not the kind on kick off info to excite real Z community.
You have a guy, they hired Paul Walker's bro (Cody I think) to add some fast&F vibe
as a everyday Z guy. He is stoked! Then a operations head from Nissan in snug tan jeans&boots , reading off a script. "turbo speed"? This guy drives a SUV.

Bottom line, keep your present Z. Make it your own.
You will be better for it and still have $ in the bank

There's no such car as a "400Z".

I'm sure we'll see you in 2 years posting about your new TT Z!

While that would be a laughable outcome, the preferable one would be if he would f**k off and let most of us that desire it have our fun.

Why did they have that guy present it? It was hard to watch, cheesy, and we know he's not a Z enthusiasts or his daughter bought a z lol.
It was too scripted.
Hes just a corporate dude. It just didn't work.

I'll be in my bunk!

The question is, how well this new Z will do in the coming yrs?
Will nissan do meager updates and get left behind by other car manufacturers?

The sad truth is, the next z if there is one will be some sort of a 4 banger hybrid.
If that happens let the Z die lol

Seeing how the 370z was 30k new in canada (23,628.56 USD) 40k usd seems overpriced for what you get.

The base here in the USA in the beginning was 29k if I'm not mistaken.
I guess inflation is a bitch lol.
