And for anyone who might wonder if their dyno simply is reading high, later in that Stillen thread they said no that isn't the case, as this is the exact same dyno that the current 3.7L V-6 with 332HP at the crank measures where it should (just south of 300HP).

stock 370s normally dyno around 275-280.

I think the GTR was the same they said 465hp or whatever when it came out and it was actually much more. This video makes me laugh when I saw earlier people saying they don't care about the new Z and are glad they just bought a 2016 haha... this thing in reverse will smoke a 370z! If it's really rated more in the 450hp range so 400 wheel hp that's like 130 more wheel hp than a 370z... and if it's more aero and lighter than yeah enjoy your 370z!! Haha

The few things that the 370z will have in its favor are low production numbers (unless the z35 flops the 370z is the lowest production Z of all time), will have the biggest displacement enging (no replacement like displacement?!:ugh2:) , and a style like very few cars. It looks like the the damn thing has a wide kit and slight sexy modern muscles sticking out! I actually hope I don't like the new Z tooo much because I plan on building my 370z for a long time. My goal is ~400bhp and ~3100lbs with all the comforts I'm looking for. Perfect! (400bhp is probably more then i want personally. so guys with 400whp -> "1000whp" z35 ... meh ...) There are few factors that I can't weight to see. (see what I did there) My guess is 410bhp and 3400lbs at $52,000 for the nismo. 400bhp and 3250lbs at $40,000 for the sports package V6tt. ---bhp and >3100lbs at $28,000 for stock *** base model ????? I think realistically trying to get a car 400+bhp and around or under 3000lbs would just be way to expensive to make. I mean that's better numbers then a porsche cayman gt4 starting at $84,000. Possible, yes. Probable ... Probably not. |
Naaaa, assuming there is a Z35 i think its obvious it will share the 400HP turbo power plant which is underrated quite a bit. If the Z35 stays at same weight, even gains a few pounds due to the welcomed tech, given the right chassis, coupled with that engine? Oh my....

with a turbo'ed engine, they could probably tune more of a hp difference out of the nismo

I put on 50 shades of grey. I thought it was a documentary about the Nissan-Infiniti paint production on their vehicles....
I was wrong!:roflpuke2: |
Doubtful they would do this but, why not keep the style and just update the tech. For example, in Vietnam the U.S. Army had the Cobra gun ship helicopter, fast forward to the mid to late nineties and you've got yourself a SuperCobra outfitted with the latest tech. Improve upon what is a great car and make it even better.
BTW.... I am also guilty of eyeing the new Vette. Never was a fan but GM actually did something right with this latest Corvette, even the base model is rated to do 0-60mph in 3.7sec. |
What would be nice is making the Nismo a legit track car and make it lighter, better braking, better cooling and more power.
Let's do some carbon pieces, oil coolers, 2 piece front rotors, recaro seats etc. |
if the z35 stays about the same weight ~3300lbs and stock dynos at 375whp/350wtrq, I am on board as long as it still looks sexy. You'll probably be able to hit mid 400s with bolt-ons and tuning with a factory TT DI engine that starts out at that level. I believe you can get 400whp out of stock turbo 300 ZXs. A more modern version with DI has to be way over that.
