I just don't understand how this issue could affect a person's position on brand loyalty. Granted this is really a sill yissue that should hav enever come up, but it's not tha tbig of a deal. On a scale of 1-10 this is no greater than a 1, I'd be hard pressed to imagine a problem that was less significant that would necessitate a trip to the service dept.
But to each there own.

LOL... so I have been sitting here reading this thread for the past month or so... thinking to myself, "man it must suck to be those guys who go to get it fixed and either can't because of stubborn dealer or can't repeat the issue."
Up until today I would have said that my hatch sticks 90% of the time. Well, today I went to the dealer for an oil change and told them to check it out. They thought that I was just plain stupid. I went to pick up my car and the service manager sat there and opened and closed my hatch about 50-75 times..YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!.. it worked perfectly every time.... and never, ever works perfectly. I know I am going to get flamed, but that is why I am just going to buy the replacements. I do not have the time to deal with we "could not replicate the problem" excuses.

Went to the dealer for maintain service and was told that Nissan just came out an TSB the sticky hatch problem.
The dealer is ordering a new set of springs for me at no charge. |

I might stop by a dealership, can I go to any dealership (the one I bought my Z from is 45 minutes away)?

Sounds good, never really have had to deal with service departments, so hoping this is something I can just walk in on them, ask about it and leave after they order it.

I just got back from having my car serviced and talked to them about the issue. At first, the tech told me he could not reproduce the problem. So when I got my car back, I talked briefly with the Service Consultant, and he told me that there was a TSB available and that I will have the replacement parts next week. Woohoo. Let me see if I can get the TSB from him. Maybe there is some hope for this issue!

Yep, just don't back down. Now that the TSB is out (so it seems) it should be easy.

Hey guys, I just asked my service consultant to fax over the TSB. The Classification number is BT10-004 and the Reference number is NTB10-014. AS stated before, the part number is 84415-1EA1E. Hope that helps.

That should be the case. One note though. On the TSB, it states that the applied dates are for "Vehicles built before Obtober 6, 2009". Just a heads up.
