Everyone experiencing this issue needs to call 1-800-NISSAN-1 or 1-800-647-7261 and file a concern in order to build a credible complaint that will hopefully spawn a TSB release for us.

These Lift Springs are $32.00 EA. I dont know about you, but I can think of better things to spend 64 bucks on...

:iagree:I noticed this issue also. I know there are many others out there with the same issue can we call on our members who own a Z to chime in and try to verify if they do or don't have this problem that would be a good feeler if Nissan has something to address for the immediate future.

I've got this issue, will call Nissan on Monday

No problems yet, but appreciate the heads up. :bump:

the spring lift on the top is the new spring lift.

the spring lift on the bottom is mine, notice the difference in length? its at least 3/8 inch longer.

I'm still using the two penny trick on mine at the moment, I tested it today and the pennies seem to be working...although its intermitten at best...

added a poll. I want to see how many members are suffering from this. Please vote honestly.

I do not have this problem. I use my hatch quite often and it has yet to get stuck.

OMGWTFBBQ 08-08-2009 03:23 AM

I'm with AK on this one.

I'm not quite sure what this "stuck hatch release issue" is all about. I use my hatch daily (I change in and out of my work shoes in the hatch haha) and haven't seen it get "stuck" yet. Knock on wood.

Mine likes for me two hit the button two times before it fully releases to open. I've tried the holding for a second or two approach and that didn't work. It's a brand new car there shouldn't be a problem opening your hatch it's not the end of the world the dealer will have to look at it and see what they can do. hopefully it's not going to cost me will update.

Intermittent, holding button doesn't help.

mrarroyo 08-08-2009 10:53 AM

Nice heads up, will monitor mine in case it surfaces. Thanks.
