they will.... and lose your fasteners for the lower shroud, swirl your paint during their 'detailed wash.' do your own changes and maintenance if you really care about your car (and if you physically can do the work)

one time i ask a guy why the hell he is being such a pansie not doing a simple oil change on his modified cars.

found out he was disabled. :ugh:

When I go the the dealership, I either bring my own oil or have them get what I want. I mainly did this while it was under warranty, but I didn't let them wash it lol.

And they will loose most if not all of your clips/pins in the underside that hold fender liners, under-tray, and they even broke/lost some of theones that hold the battery tray cover / brake reservoir cover. I was like WTF dude!!!

i'm "fortunate", i guess, since my last oil change (5k) (2nd w/redline) i axed the serv. mgr. that i needed to see the oil change and he heartily agreed...i told both him, and the top mech. i knew from older times, that it wasn't that i didn't trust him (the mech.), i don't trust ANYBODY!!!, and it worked...i was in the bay, yakkin' away the whole time...

still had to pay a hund for the privilege of them using my redline tranny replacement, their oil pumping out service...

next: in a few weeks it's my 3rd oil change at 8.2k...he's got me at 3k changes, (i might move up to 4k after new changes)...i'm adding the 8qt GTM OIL PAN and, the Z1 alum. under shroud, AND at this time, maybe either the Z1 34/row oil cooler or FI's new 34...bit of a price difference...Z1 is about a hund cheaper---FI tried but on true, butt, i bought their pipes...(any suggestions?)

anyhoo...see if'n you can get approval to GET-IN-THE-BAY...

don't trust anyone...

They will use regular fluids to be cheap. What I did with my 3 free oil changes is I upgraded to ester oil and got it for $25 out the door. Cheap oil change if you ask me. My dealer was really good about not screwing things up though so I didn't mind taking it there.

the redline motor oil is great stuff but it breaks down quickly after 3k miles. 5k is way to far to push that ester based oil.

WOW!, fuct...i hadn't heard of that...i'm sure you have basis in fact...? why the relatively short break-down on a widely accepted quality oil? is this perhaps why my mech. is pre-setting my next change? and, won't keeping it cooler help to not break it down?

...my oil has been recognized as turning "too" dark by him...

are there better oils you might recommend?...discussion?

really appreciate the input...thx, bro'

High quality doesn't mean long lasting. Just like tires. From the research I did the ester oil is derived from alcohol. It breaks down faster than conventional oil. It adheres to the diamond polished parts in our vvel system really well that's why Nissan recommends it. I used it for 20k miles. Each change that I pushed the oil past 4k miles it looked horrible. No I didn't have analysis done on it but after changing oil in all my cars over the years I could tell it was toast. I would run the oil if I was pushing the car harder but it's my daily driver.

it's my DD, as well...so, you're saying you WOULDN'T push the car harder? i'm expanding my oil pan capacity by 2 qts. and exchanging the undershroud with an almun. one with better cooling/venting...prolly adding a cooler soon, as well...

did you say 4k was your limit, not 3k? i was thinking of axing my mech. if he thought i could bump the 3k change up...i DO want to baby the car, maintenance-wise...is 3k erring on the side of caution?

thx, again

Maybe, but from the oil tests I had done there was no real difference (well within spec) in properties from a 3k oil change to a 4k one. Never been to 5k but I wouldn't expect a sudden extreme change in that time.

Send your oil into Blackstone Labs for an oil analysis. They will tell you the best oil change interval for your vehicle based on scientific methods and data.
