30,000 Maintenance $239.00+ Dealership

Depend on the dealer as to what gets done. Mine doesn't follow Nissan's guide. Basically, they add all kinds of crap that you don't need or is cheaper to do yourself. Like change the wiper blades.

Troyz 08-28-2013 01:37 PM

What was done

Round Rock Nissan 30,000 Mile Service
  • Oil Change (Includes Roadside assistance for a couple months)
  • Brake Fluid Flush
  • Engine Air Filter Change
  • Cabin Air Filter Change
  • Check a bunch of $hit (Forgot to check the tire pressure)
$239 + a few more $$ because I wanted Mobil Syn

Bonus: Includes use of rental car for a day.

tonythetiger 09-19-2013 11:04 PM

just replace fluids yourself, pretty easy

Hope you didn't pay for this :icon18:, as 370's don't have one. At least my dealer was kind enough to tell me.

It's located behind the gloves compartment. There is a DIY of how to replace it. My 40th has one, so is yours.

Felt the price was fair $239

The rental car alone was worth $30 for a day and was included since I was spending over $200. Its not a bad price for parts and labor.

///PureSwank 09-26-2013 07:23 PM

Wtf is going on? I payed 83 bucks for this sh!t and I specifically asked for 30k service 6k miles in advanced! I'm at 24k.

1500 bucks!!??

Gmendez 10-14-2013 03:12 PM

Why are we all over the place on this one? (from $70 to $1,500). I'm doing mine next weekend.

My List:

Nissan 999MP-L25500P coolant - $28.20/gal. x 3 gals. = $84.60
Bando 6PK2020 Serpentine belt - $22.95
Red Line 75W90 Gear oil (Diff.) - $15.49/qt. x 2 qts. = $30.98
Red Line MT085 MT oil - $15.95/qt. x 4 qts. = $31.90
ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid - $18.00

Total cost = $188.43

I have K&N panels, so those are just cleaned and replaced. Cabin filter is like new.

What am I missing????

DEpointfive0 10-14-2013 03:46 PM

Agreed. I'm trying to figure out how someone is paying $70, and another $1,500. My prices are for parts/materials/fluids alone. This will take a couple of hours to do (myself). Even If I paid for labor, how the hell do you get to $1,500 (or anywhere beyond $400/$500, for that matter)???

It's either BS or homeboy is the most gullible individual on the planet. The worst part is that he "gladly paid it to keep my crap right". Wow. That's a salesman's dream right there.

Depends on what each dealer decides is included in their 30k service. We use top shelf products and do a bit more than the book requires (Trans and Diffy fluids are replaced on 30k intervals) and still only charge in the neighborhood of $300ish and we are in the NY/NJ area where labor and rent is probably the highest in the country.

I go to the dealer for EVERYHTING. That way if there is an issue they can't blame it on Jiffy Lube or something.

Gadgetech 12-03-2013 04:45 AM

I wonder if anyone has ever fallen prey to the "Need to change the fluid in your headlights" trick? Seems some dealers would try it. I generally go to the dealer during the warranty period and then to a garage that specializes in Nissan/Japanese cars afterwards. Everyone may not be as fortunate, we have a top notch aftermarket shop here.

We've been doing maintenance on the Japanese cars since 2001, mostly Subarus, and probably have had a dozen or so that needed warranty work, our documentation has been accepted in each and every circumstance where it was needed to get a replacement motor or other warranty work. There should be no issues if you go to a reputable aftermarket shop as long as they document it all for you.

Hey if my dealer tells me 1 yr free maintenance, should i go for oil changes and what not? Im afraid since its "free" theyll use crap.

I would ask before you have them change the oil. The dealer I bought my car from had something similar but it only covers budget conventional oil and filter so I've done my own oil changes.

they will.... and lose your fasteners for the lower shroud, swirl your paint during their 'detailed wash.' do your own changes and maintenance if you really care about your car (and if you physically can do the work)

kenchan 01-23-2014 06:51 PM

one time i ask a guy why the hell he is being such a pansie not doing a simple oil change on his modified cars.

found out he was disabled. :ugh:

When I go the the dealership, I either bring my own oil or have them get what I want. I mainly did this while it was under warranty, but I didn't let them wash it lol.

And they will loose most if not all of your clips/pins in the underside that hold fender liners, under-tray, and they even broke/lost some of theones that hold the battery tray cover / brake reservoir cover. I was like WTF dude!!!

i'm "fortunate", i guess, since my last oil change (5k) (2nd w/redline) i axed the serv. mgr. that i needed to see the oil change and he heartily agreed...i told both him, and the top mech. i knew from older times, that it wasn't that i didn't trust him (the mech.), i don't trust ANYBODY!!!, and it worked...i was in the bay, yakkin' away the whole time...

still had to pay a hund for the privilege of them using my redline tranny replacement, their oil pumping out service...

next: in a few weeks it's my 3rd oil change at 8.2k...he's got me at 3k changes, (i might move up to 4k after new changes)...i'm adding the 8qt GTM OIL PAN and, the Z1 alum. under shroud, AND at this time, maybe either the Z1 34/row oil cooler or FI's new 34...bit of a price difference...Z1 is about a hund cheaper---FI tried but on true, butt, i bought their pipes...(any suggestions?)

anyhoo...see if'n you can get approval to GET-IN-THE-BAY...

don't trust anyone...

kenchan 01-26-2014 07:13 PM

They will use regular fluids to be cheap. What I did with my 3 free oil changes is I upgraded to ester oil and got it for $25 out the door. Cheap oil change if you ask me. My dealer was really good about not screwing things up though so I didn't mind taking it there.

the redline motor oil is great stuff but it breaks down quickly after 3k miles. 5k is way to far to push that ester based oil.

WOW!, fuct...i hadn't heard of that...i'm sure you have basis in fact...? why the relatively short break-down on a widely accepted quality oil? is this perhaps why my mech. is pre-setting my next change? and, won't keeping it cooler help to not break it down?

...my oil has been recognized as turning "too" dark by him...

are there better oils you might recommend?...discussion?

really appreciate the input...thx, bro'
