Why are we all over the place on this one? (from $70 to $1,500). I'm doing mine next weekend.

My List:

Nissan 999MP-L25500P coolant - $28.20/gal. x 3 gals. = $84.60
Bando 6PK2020 Serpentine belt - $22.95
Red Line 75W90 Gear oil (Diff.) - $15.49/qt. x 2 qts. = $30.98
Red Line MT085 MT oil - $15.95/qt. x 4 qts. = $31.90
ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid - $18.00

Total cost = $188.43

I have K&N panels, so those are just cleaned and replaced. Cabin filter is like new.

What am I missing????

Agreed. I'm trying to figure out how someone is paying $70, and another $1,500. My prices are for parts/materials/fluids alone. This will take a couple of hours to do (myself). Even If I paid for labor, how the hell do you get to $1,500 (or anywhere beyond $400/$500, for that matter)???

It's either BS or homeboy is the most gullible individual on the planet. The worst part is that he "gladly paid it to keep my crap right". Wow. That's a salesman's dream right there.

Depends on what each dealer decides is included in their 30k service. We use top shelf products and do a bit more than the book requires (Trans and Diffy fluids are replaced on 30k intervals) and still only charge in the neighborhood of $300ish and we are in the NY/NJ area where labor and rent is probably the highest in the country.

I go to the dealer for EVERYHTING. That way if there is an issue they can't blame it on Jiffy Lube or something.

I wonder if anyone has ever fallen prey to the "Need to change the fluid in your headlights" trick? Seems some dealers would try it. I generally go to the dealer during the warranty period and then to a garage that specializes in Nissan/Japanese cars afterwards. Everyone may not be as fortunate, we have a top notch aftermarket shop here.

We've been doing maintenance on the Japanese cars since 2001, mostly Subarus, and probably have had a dozen or so that needed warranty work, our documentation has been accepted in each and every circumstance where it was needed to get a replacement motor or other warranty work. There should be no issues if you go to a reputable aftermarket shop as long as they document it all for you.

The blinker fluid alone is worth 1k...1500 is reasonable:rofl2:

I would ask before you have them change the oil. The dealer I bought my car from had something similar but it only covers budget conventional oil and filter so I've done my own oil changes.
