Default Broken PCV Valve elbow?

Hey folks,

The PCV Valve elbow below is broken -- the one potnetial problem from having the stiffer smooth tubes...

Annoyingly I cannot find a definitieve p/n for it.

Anyone know what the p/n is for this thing?

"90025" is printed on the top of it, but does not seem to match to a Nissan part.

If anyone has one lying around they don't need, I'll happily buy it off of you.

Thanks for any help!

Sorry this is a little late

You wont find a direct part number for that as you have to buy the whole intake tube assembly to get that little breather.

I just went to Autozone and bought a PVC valve similar to this Motormite/PCV Valve Elbow (47032) | AutoZone.com

and just reconnected the hoses, I have had no problems after 10k+ miles.

I would also suggest going to a junk yard and pulling one off of a 350z, as they have this same part. Nissan still wont sell it alone, 350z or 370z you have to buy the whole assembly.

Could we get a working generic part number from someone who's done this?

I did the same thing as the above, where the stock PCV broke clean. i think my Stillen G3 intake may have had something to do with it, but I cannot be sure.

I used the above posted part from Autozone Motormite/PCV Valve Elbow (47032) | AutoZone.com
and it's worked for about 20k miles. No special order, just go there and grab one off their shelf.

Also note, the stock piece is really not a traditional PCV. Usually these pieces come with some kind of one-way check valve, but thats not the case with the stock 370z unit. Honestly I dont know why Nissan made the piece so complex for what it does internally; which just naturally connects both inlet/outlet without restriction - a straight through (plus angle) shot in and out. The 90' bend from Autozone does the same thing just fine.

Thanks for the link guys -- repped

Yeah, I have no idea why it's there. It seems to me that just using a longer hose with no plastic hard part would have worked fine.

I guess it functions as a resonator?

I must say the way Nissan arranged the breather system on this engine is pretty two bit. I broke one of mine pretty easily. Replaced it, but thought...what a poor effort on Nissan's part. It almost looks like an after thought that some mechanic added before the car went into production.

Just bought and installed the above PCV valve from Auto Zone. Broke the piece which looks like it is a valve and it is nothing more than a black plastic box. Fits nice and snug.

You can always purchase a set of silicone PCV breather hoses from Z1. They work well with the CAIs and/or silicone post MAF tubes. You may have to trim them a little to fit without any kinking. They are fitted with check valves.

yah, just epoxy your factory one back together, or get the aftermarket elbow.

Bump from way back. My elbow broken clean at the valve cover. Are the OEM ones thread or push in? Can't even tell to figure out how I'm going to get the broken piece out.

It's push in with a little metal clip that holds it in place.

You need a needle nose pliers to pinch the connecting tabs so you have enough slack to release it.

I think one resonator box/breather connector (?) looks like an "L" (the one discussed in this thread) and is on the driver side and the other sort of has a "C" shape, is larger, and is on the passenger side.

I meant the actual PCV elbow that goes into the valve cover. There aren't any tabs or anything on it. I'll snap a quick pic of it when I get home. Just not sure how it fits in there so I can try and remove the broken piece appropriately without pushing it into the valve cover and be forced to remove the whole thing just to fish it out.

If its the plastic elbow breather attachment I think it has that metal pressure clamp/clasp thing on it (whatever it's called).

I don't think it even has an inner filter -- I'm not really sure what it does other than connect two hoses -- see diagram below. It shows the "L" shaped breather and clips that connect it.

If that's not it then I can try and identify it from a pic or diagram.

The elbow circled in orange that plugs into the valve cover directly

A poor bit actual image

I've already got rid of all that other junk.
