Scheduled maintenance: belt, radiator cap, brake fluid, water pump, fuel filter, p/s

Default Scheduled maintenance: belt, radiator cap, brake fluid, water pump, fuel filter, p/s

So I was looking through the Nissan maintenance booklet and summed it up with this:

Every 1 year or 15,000 miles:
In-Cabin Filter

Every 2 years or 30,000 miles:
Radiator fluid
Transmission fluid (Red Line MT-85 - 3 Qt)
Differential fluid (Red Line 75W90 - 2 Qt)
Engine Drive Belt
Radiator Cap

Spark plugs:
4 years or 60,000 miles
7 years or 105,000 miles

So something I didn't know was changing the radiator cap every 30k miles. Is this necessary?
30k miles for a timing belt seems like a very short lifespan imo. Opinions?

When are you supposed to change the water pump, brake fluid, clutch fluid, fuel filter, and power steering? Thank you.

Some of those fluid changes intervals are very aggressive from a time perspective. 30K for those fluids is fine, but 2 years to me is too short...3-4 makes more sense IMHO.

Drive belt != timing belt. IIRC VQ's use a timing chain anyway, not a belt. The drive belt is large belt around all the pulleys (alternator, AC, etc...). Some cars its a single belt, some its multiple.

In my experience belts age more with time then mileage. Age of rubber, heat cycles, helps accelerate wear and cracks. Its easy to inspect. Based on all the belts I have changed, I always use OEM. Worth the extra few bucks.

The radiator cap is probably just a check and replace, not a "replace always".

Radiator Caps when you replace step up to a Blitz or something with a higher BAR. They are cheap to replace. You should just replace when you change your coolant dont cheap out on a $20 cap.

As for the other fluids i would recommend swapping to Amsoil or some other fluids for the DIff and Tranny. I used Amsoil in my transmission in both my cars and it makes the transmission feel perfectly smooth much better then stock fluids.
Its good in the diff as well to provide strong lubrication in there!
