Default the shop that is fixing my car is saying that the dash board for the 3 is unavailable

I had a minor front-end collision but my airbags went off so they have to replace the dash board and everything. The problem is, the maintenance shop that has my car is saying that there are no dash boards available. Does any one have the means to confirm this? Or could someone help me find out? They have had my car for a month now and, I hate feeling helpless about the whole situation. I really appreciate the help!

Seems odd no dashboards are available from Nissan. Perhaps this is fukushima related though? In any case, you could ask the repair shop to check for collision parts (e.g. a good dash from a rear-end totalled vehicle at a salvage lot), or you could also ask around here in case someone has a take-off dash they'd sell you from doing a full racing conversion.

I can't imagine there are none available. This would seriously hender dealerships and body shops ability to get customer's cars back on the road. Now don't get me wrong. It may take longer for them to get one but I'm sure they are out there.

I mean, it is certainly possible. Japan's in rough shape, and they probably didnt have a ton sitting around.

I am an estimator at a dealership body shop. I'll check availability for you on monday and post up what I find out.

Believe or not we run into parts all the time that are not available. Just an example is the 04-07 chevy silverado rear seat covers. We have had two of these trucks come in that were theft recoveries and needed the back seat recovered, but GM has had one of the covers on back order since february. When it comes to finding salvage interior parts 99% of the time they will show up and something is broken or messed up making the part unusable. You really need a new OEM dash from nissan.

We are already having issues with the paint supply from Japan and it is only going to get worse.
