Default Headlight issues

So as usual I have turned a 5 min job into a whole different type of dumpster fire..

Drivers side headlight went out, assuming due to moisture, after driving in a very hard rain. (no fender liners because i'm cool / dumb)

Purchased some cheap D2S bulbs off amazon and swapped em out. And both bulbs didn't turn back on...

Assumed it was some cheap Chinese stuff so i ordered a second set and still have the same problem..

I double checked that I had the connection correct and secure, it is. But i hear a click when i hit high beams with the car turned "on". The passenger side will light up on a high beam but only for a second.

Any idea what i'v broken on my car?

The high/low beams is one bulb. There is a shutter that moves up and down in front of the bulb. This is what gives you the different beams. You may have damaged the shutters because of no fender liners.

HEADLAMP SYSTEM : System Description INFOID:0000000006350556
OUTLINE
• Mobile valve shade type is adopted. Xenon headlamp switches the high beam and the low beam with one
xenon bulb each on right and left.
• Headlamp is controlled by combination switch reading function and headlamp control function of BCM, and
relay control function of IPDM E/R.
HEADLAMP BASIC OPERATION
• BCM detects the combination switch condition with the combination switch reading function.
• BCM transmits the low beam request signal to IPDM E/R with CAN communication according to the headlamp ON condition.
Headlamp ON condition
- Lighting switch 2ND
- Lighting switch PASS
- Lighting switch AUTO, and the auto light function ON judgment
• IPDM E/R turns the integrated headlamp low relay ON, and turns the headlamp ON according to the low
beam request signal.
HEADLAMP HI/LO SWITCHING OPERATION
• BCM transmits the high beam request signal to IPDM E/R and the combination meter with CAN communication according to the high beam switching condition.
High beam switching condition
- Lighting switch HI with the headlamp ON
- Lighting switch PASS
• Combination meter turns the high beam indicator lamp ON according to the high beam request signal.
• IPDM E/R turns the integrated headlamp high relay ON, and turns the headlamp ON according to the high
beam request signal.

• When the headlamp high relay is turned ON, magnetic force is
applied to the high beam solenoid (1) by a current. The mobile
valve shade (3) is switched to the high beam position through the
actuator rod (2).
• When the headlamp high relay is turned OFF, the current stops.
The mobile valve shade returns to the low beam position automatically.

That would account for the noise clicking noise, but both bulbs are not lighting up period.

Check for power at the headlight ballast. Going into and at the bulb.

Yeah, sounds like a ballast issue. I found one for about $50 when I ordered one.
