Default Service engine soon from radar detector?

So yesterday I just installed a new radar detector (Uniden r3) and this morning when I start my car up the service engine soon light comes on. Coincidence or is it possible the radar detector was draining my batter? The volt meter was a little above 14 so I’m not sure that it’s the battery.

Most likely coincidence. What's the code?

Get an OBD tool and see if any DTCs have been thrown.

Went to autozone, did a scan and it came back as "Reprogram Engine Control Module (ECM)". Also at the bottom of the screen it read "P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure/BARO Sensor Range/Performance" 3 times in a row. Do I just need an ECU reset or possible I need a new computer all-together?

It's possible you did something weird to the power when you installed the detector and the ECM is confused. I'd clear the codes and see what happens. You may need to do an ECM reset - procedure can be found on this site or in the FSM (link in sig).

Depends where you tapped the detectors power source.

I've found if you use the rear view mirror wiring or interior lighting, as your power source, it does funky things to your ECM. Don't know why but after 3 attempts on two different cars, I don't advise it anymore.

Get a fuse tap and run a power source from the fuse panel on the drivers side and the ECM will be less funky and the detector will have a stable power source.
