$27K for a base huh? I was driving down on the Freeway in S. Cali and I saw a billboard for a Nissan dealer that offered $7,000 off all new 370's in stock, might as well give them a shot.

I am not versed in spider webs or dead batteries in new cars, but I've never seen either on a new car lot, but that's neither here, nor there.

Really, $7k off, eh? Do you happen to recall the dealer name?

Then you walk in and there is a 4,000 apperance adendum on the car. Here is your 7K off, which is 1k over invoice. LOL. I love some dealers tatics.

I was at my dealer today and they had battery tenders on a few of the cars and a few others started up running. They were all clean as can be though. And this was 2 days after it had rained. Props to my dealer Team Nissan

I test drove a Z about two months ago, maybe longer now. Surprisingly, most of the Z's that were on the lot then are still there. I knew sales were slow, but I didn't think that slow. As for your offer, I would expect to pay invoice, but I see no harm in starting out lower. You just might get lucky, but don't expect it.

Also, the 2010s are still months away from my understanding. You may be waiting awhile before dealerships are looking to unload the last year's model.

I was extremely lucky to get the deal that I got.

In Australia we only get 1 Z, the top specced one except 19" Rays.

The Z was released in May and they started coming in June.

I shopped around at various dealers and was told, the RRP was $73,500 and NO DISCOUNT whatsoever. Some dealers were arrogant in telling me in no uncertain terms.

One of my friends bought his Nissan Navara (Pathfinder utility) from an out of town dealer. So I rang him.

I asked if it was pushing sh*t up a hill if I could get a brand new 6M Z for $67,200 drive away with floor mats and tinted windows. He rang me back and said yes!

He said that since I was a referral and there was no stuffing/mucking around he was happy to do the deal. Sometimes he says that when tyre kickers come in, they wont do deals....
