Hi Guys, just jioned forum. I posted this same thread in the Ordering / Pricing section, but as it's likely someone from Canada will have a better idea of the answer, I thought I'd post here too.
I ordered my first 370Z late Spetember (in Canada) and the dealer said the car would probably be delivered "about Christmas"; not only was this vague but the way it was said suggested to me that it was more a guess than anything. I've since been told the "build month" was October. The dealer says they can't determine an approximate delivery date, but that they'll phone Nissan Canada - that was Monday, and apparently Nissan Canada weren't answering the phone (at least the guy they were trying to contact) and so they sent an email - still no further info and it's now Wednesday. Does anyone know how to get an approximate delivery date? Thanx. |

I don't think there is much you can do to nail down an exact delivery or even "x" week in December. Lots of variables involved with scheduling shipping of a vehicle by boat, rail, truck from Japan to your locale. The dealer should be able to let you know when it arrives at the port of entry into Vancouver or Seatle if it comes through the US. Then add on a couple of weeks or so to get loaded by rail and shipped to ON. Then another week or so to get put on a truck and delivered to your dealer. So, Xmas time seems like a reasonable answer right now.

OK, thanx for the answer, appreciated. We're going on a cruise and we're driving down Jan 4 for a Jan 6 sailing date in Florida, REALLY hope the car arrives before then so I'm not driving in the old car!

Just a comment on a long drive like that with a new engine still inside the break-in period.
I have read that if you do take a long highway road trip with a new engine, don't just park it in 6th and maintain the same RPM/Speed all the time, this is not ideal for proper break in of the cylinder wall. Vary the RPM/Speed even put it in 5th for a bit, just don't over-rev until break in is complete. Take this for what it's worth, if you talk to 5 different people about engine break-in they will give you 5 different methods, but I have seen this advice mentioned from several sources. Congrats on the purchase!
