How to Find Out Delivery Date?

I ordered my first 370Z late Spetember (in Canada) and the dealer said the car would probably be delivered "about Christmas"; not only was this vague but the way it was said suggested to me that it was more a guess than anything. I've since been told the "build month" was October. The dealer says they can't determine an approximate delivery date, but that they'll phone Nissan Canada - that was Monday, and apparently Nissan Canada weren't answering the phone (at least the guy they were trying to contact) and so they sent an email - still no further info and it's now Wednesday. Does anyone know how to get an approximate delivery date? Thanx.

How to Find Out Delivery Date

Hi Guys, just jioned forum. I posted this same thread in the Ordering / Pricing section, but as it's likely someone from Canada will have a better idea of the answer, I thought I'd post here too.

I don't think there is much you can do to nail down an exact delivery or even "x" week in December. Lots of variables involved with scheduling shipping of a vehicle by boat, rail, truck from Japan to your locale. The dealer should be able to let you know when it arrives at the port of entry into Vancouver or Seatle if it comes through the US. Then add on a couple of weeks or so to get loaded by rail and shipped to ON. Then another week or so to get put on a truck and delivered to your dealer. So, Xmas time seems like a reasonable answer right now.

OK, thanx for the answer, appreciated. We're going on a cruise and we're driving down Jan 4 for a Jan 6 sailing date in Florida, REALLY hope the car arrives before then so I'm not driving in the old car!

Just a comment on a long drive like that with a new engine still inside the break-in period.

I have read that if you do take a long highway road trip with a new engine, don't just park it in 6th and maintain the same RPM/Speed all the time, this is not ideal for proper break in of the cylinder wall. Vary the RPM/Speed even put it in 5th for a bit, just don't over-rev until break in is complete.

Take this for what it's worth, if you talk to 5 different people about engine break-in they will give you 5 different methods, but I have seen this advice mentioned from several sources.

Congrats on the purchase!

Thanx for the heads up, Trilitheum, sounds like good advice!

Big delay? I am unaware of any delay, my 13' came in 2 and half months from Japan the usual time it takes for anyone. If you have the order info you can probably contact Joe Clem(Koeppel Nissan) who is a sponser of the forum by PM or email and he should be able to look up your order. It takes approximately a month to get the Vin number.
If your build was October, you should be looking at end of December/Janurary delivery time.

Yes a 2013 Magma Red with Sport, Nav and A7 and illuminated kickplates and Nismo Forged 19" rims and winters (as it's snowy up here in Canada!) :)

Thanx LakeShow for the advice, that agrees with what the delear said (expected about Christmas) and I didn't know the normal wait was 2 1/2 months so that's good to hear that mine is on track. Thanx again.

Hey Madwi, thanx for the photo. Looks great and I hope you're having a lot of fun with it. I think the Magma Red looks really good and it's the car I thought I was getting until yesterday morning when Nissan told me TWO MONTHS after I ordered the car that they can't be bothered building it for me. See this thread if you want the pretty bad details http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-p...70z-great.html But now I'm getting my second choice (Gunmetal) but with my first interior choice (Persimmion) and as I'm getting it $1000 cheaper I'm using that to get a Invidia Gemini catback with rolled titanium tips and I get the car in about 2 weeks, so it hasn't turned out so bad. Anyway, thanx again, great car you have!

wow man, I'm sorry for posting the "don't you wish you had yours already post." Hope you get what you ordered soon as possible! I'm sorry about your issues! Heres to hoping you get some driving time in during these harsh winter months!
Gun metal grey is a very nice color! Crap I dont see the cheers smashing two beers together smiley...
I'm buying the FI exhaust over these winter months and hopefully have it installed in the early spring when I can drive it again.

LakeShow 11-25-2012 01:32 AM

That's great man! Gun Metal and Persimmon is going to look great.

gplw 11-25-2012 02:59 PM

Thanx LakeShow, I agree :) I've had that shade of grey for the last four years, which is why I wanted a change and the Magma Red I think looks great, but the grey does look good, and the interior is excellent, so I'm still pretty excited, should be getting the car in about 2 weeks. I'll post pics then.
