Thumbs up Is your quoted "invoice" really invoice?

Hey all, I've been feeling out a few dealers in my area to get the best price on ordering a new Z. An interesting thing I've noticed that everyone should be aware of:

Just because the dealer says "I will sell at invoice." does not mean the reduced price they are showing is actually invoice! 2 out of 3 dealerships I went to agreed to ordering at invoice, but they both showed different numbers (about $350 apart). The third dealership, however, let me view the actual dealer's order page that showed a breakdown of true invoice on every part and accessory. Surprise surprise, this TRUE invoice was lower still than the other two dealer's invoices.

Long story short, don't take the dealer's word for it, request the actual build sheet!

Oh and I finally placed the order at $865 BELOW invoice, so keep this in mind as well when ordering! Happy Z hunting everyone!

Just out of curiosity since I've also been visiting quite a few dealerships, what was the invoice price that you got quoted? The lowest I've gotten was from surf city nissan, 34,144 + tax.

Good for you on the price. And this is an excellent point - do your homework and don't trust what the dealer says. There are some honest dealers, and some not so honest dealers.

For a 2013 Touring coupe with 6-speed manual my invoice came out to:

$35,027 Base price
$2,628 Sport package
$648 Backup camera
$790 Destination/handling fee
$172 Splash guards
$149 Illuminated kick plates
$66 Trunk mats
$95 Front mats

$39,575 Total (they then took $865 from this, supposedly all of the dealer's kickbacks)

Request a copy of the CPO Configuration. When I get home I'll try and post up a picture of what this looks like.

After Taxes and Fees it bring you to 37K approaching 38K OTD. You can get these cars at 35K but you have to really do some negotiating.

Look at Nissan's VPP site. Gives you an idea just how much they are in the vehicle. My vehicles sticker price was 36k. OTD price with $5500 trade in (KBB was $6,000), no money down, upgraded warranty (don't do it) My loan was for $32600. I was deployed so I didn't pave to pay the $3600 in taxes.

In some markets, Nissan builds a marketing charge into the dealer invoice
