My vehicle delivery nightmare.

1 Attachment(s)
Hey there everyone,

As most of you are aware my wife had to take delivery of my Z because I am still stuck on deployment. At any rate, the dealer in Georgia that the car was delivered to was a nightmare. Attached is the letter that I have sent out. Let me know if you all have any more suggestions.

Bottom line is, the car is safely at my home and the deal is done, but wow, I still just can't believe a person would treat other people like this. Makes me sorry for other customers. I am sure, as he said, 'customers' of his get treated better, but MAN, what about the servicing and Future business you lose by treating someone like this!

Regards,
Brian

sig11 06-23-2009 08:14 AM

Wow that is pretty terrible, Brian. Good luck.

I sent the complaint to the BBB, they asked what I want to be done to resolve the issue: I just said an apology to my wife by that dude. Fat chance of that happening, but hey, I have to fight for her!

Luckily, she and I saved all the voicemails and statements they made.

theDreamer 06-23-2009 08:33 AM

Just got done reading the letter, wow that is just wrong. Would not expect much from the dealership in an apology, but it was good to see another dealership step in and big up.

nogoodname 06-23-2009 09:00 AM

they totally treated her badly.....sooo not cool.
i have a tendency to cause scenes in situations like this but clam though.....lol

dealerships are quite cocky, so i expect nothing from them and u'd probably receive a free oil coupon from Nissan consumer affairs

Reality 06-23-2009 09:22 AM

Wow, that is totally unacceptable.. I am sorry to hear about your experience.

Glad to hear that the z is safe in your possession:tup:

FuszNissan 06-23-2009 09:56 AM

Wow, if you need any help with features or options, just PM. I can have one of my sales consults go over the car with you over the phone. I know its a litttle more difficult, but willing to help.

zZSportZz 06-23-2009 10:37 AM

Absolutely incredible lack of business sense on their part...its mind boggling.

Honestly, I would have refused delivery and walked out.

Mike 06-23-2009 10:37 AM

Wow, that is terrible Brian. I am really surprised too, that used to be a great dealership. A friend of mine was the parts manager there for several years, and they replaced the engine on my 350z under warranty for me when Atlanta dealers gave me trouble. Things must have changed.

cossie1600 06-23-2009 10:59 AM

sorry to hear that, as I have said, nissan has terrible customer service. I am amazed at how badly they treated you as a captain in the military. anyway you probably won't get anything in return, but I would trash these guys anyway I can to discourage potential customers.

also bbb is useless, don't expect anything from them. send the letter directly to the owner, not manager

Thanks man, I have heard great things about you and your dealership on here. I should have just asked MAS to deliver the vehicle to you all and enjoyed the long drive home in my new car. I will call you when I inevitably get confused with the MusicBox. :icon17:

Yeah, I argued that he was risking me not taking delivery over that silly decal issue, but in the long run, MAS (the factory supplier) had done such a god job taking care of me and the vehicle was there (the dealership didn't own the vehicle), ready, ahead of schedule. I just wanted Jenney to get out of there with the car and let me fight the fight after the tactical withdrawal.

Mike, don't get me wrong, I know of at least one dude on here that purchased from them, and I am sure his experience was vastly different b/c he was a 'customer.' I hope that, as I said in the letter, upper management does not condone one person's (Sales Mgr) actions and this doesn't represent the dealership as a whole. But as it stands, that is the Sales Manager, and he kind of represents the Vaden Nissan flag, as such, if you will.

btw, thanks for all your positive support. Makes me feel like we did the right thing.

INTENSEPOWER 06-23-2009 11:12 AM

That's absolutely aweful. Call a local new station and report that, guarantee they change their story and attitude real quick. I'm interested to hear the outcome once that hits Nissan Corporate.

Maybe Mr. Fusz can enlighten us (Being a dealership owner) what may happen in this instance once Nissan gets a letter like this. Just curious

SoCal 370Z 06-23-2009 11:20 AM

There are days when I think this once great country has all but gone to hell, and after reading situations like this...I'm sure of it. :shakes head:

:usa: Thank you for serving our country.

Here is a link for all of us to comment: http://www.vadennissan.com/contact-form.htm

They just received a piece of my mind.

I am not going to get into to much detail due to the politics, but I doubt anything will happen or become of this; it's sad. Nissan will contact the dealer, but ulitmately it's up to that idividual/Dealer to correct there actions. Nissan is just going to make it aware to the Dealer that this customer is unhappy. BB will do the same thing. With that said, I would send it directly to the Owner and just let him know that he will be losing more than just one customer. The Owner will care more about the issue then the BBB/Nissan.

There are just my opinions, from dealing with the same issues over time.

Santent 06-23-2009 01:06 PM

When you get back home (or if you are already) you need to go pull a terminator on that guy BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!! :owned:

Seriously though, if they got a destination payment they should be happy for easy money, that guy who shall not be named is obviously upset at his fail life. LOL he probably wants to buy/ride in a 370z himself but cant afford it!!! Now that is LOL OWNED!!!

k20z3 06-23-2009 01:46 PM

Im scared who the member was on this forum ... if they helped you or, not I'm just glad everything is "Sort-of" getting situated man... what asses.

k20z3 06-23-2009 01:50 PM

I still can't believe they said those things to your wife man, that is plain out disrespectful, how do you compare a 40,000 car to a 1.00 cheeseburger vist or some ****.

fly yellow 06-23-2009 02:38 PM

You would think a business would be proud to be able to do something to help a member of the armed forces. They were even getting paid for it.

weltall 06-23-2009 02:52 PM

I was referring to 'MAS' i.e. Military Auto Source (
Military AutoSource - Authorized Distributors for Audi, VW, Mazda, Nissan, Infiniti, Polaris and Victory ). They do Land Rover, VW, Nissan, Audi, Mazda, Infiniti, Victory Motorcycles, and Polaris.

It's one of those 'you have to be deployed' when you place your order with them places. Not quite sure why that is, but I was, so it's cool.

cdawg410 06-23-2009 04:03 PM

Captain Brian,

I would certainly recommend you speak directly with the owner of the dealership. I also suggest that you do it in person in your uniform. I would bring up the fact that the military as a whole is very tight knit community and you will make it a point to inform your fellow servicemen and women that their dealership is not friendly to military personnel and you suggest they take their business elsewhere. Both my parents served 20+ and have never hesitated to use their influence to right a wrong. You deserve better, your wife deserves better. Congratulations on your new ride.

would okinawa fall under this?

i currently only do 7 month rotations and with the only places left for ch46 guys being oki and cali i might as well ask to go to okinawa

btw my old OIC was Capt Ziola do you know him? he was an f18 guy he was an MMCO before

caj77 06-23-2009 05:07 PM

Bogus. Another reason why I HATE car dealerships and thoroughly enjoy grinding them into nothing when I buy cars. I enjoy ruining their day.

Crash 06-23-2009 05:48 PM

It's all a big misunderstanding.

You see, before delivery of the car, the manager's puppy ran into a street where it was hit by 3 cars... After surviving those hits, it tried to pull itself out of the way with one puppy paw when it was run over by a garbage truck. The manager then sent his 8 year old kid into the street to go pick up the remains when his kid was hit by an on-coming car. No cars stopped for this as more cars ran his kid over.

So the manager was very unhappy that day and didn't know how to handle his emotions.

CrownR426 06-23-2009 05:53 PM

It's about time to use your other toys and pay the dealership a visit.
Don't you think so? :stirthepot:

Not trying to be disrespectful, but I say BS on this one.

weltall 06-23-2009 06:00 PM

i think its just a joke

Crash 06-23-2009 06:04 PM

Yeah. It was a joke. LOL

That manager's a freaking tard. I've only been to a couple dealerships that didn't treat me like a customer, but never that bad. AND NEVER did any of them tell me that I "wasn't a customer"! That's so in bad taste and wrong on so many levels, I would feel very violent towards them. Of course, the letter to Nissan was EXACTLY spot on.

When was that sent out? Any word?

weltall 06-23-2009 06:42 PM

i hate dealerships in general maybe because im in a military town and they tend to treat us like we are naive kids and use it to there advantage

Yeah, I am sure Oki is fair game. I have a good point of contact over there if you want, too.

Thanks for the compliment on the letter! It is nice to know I can still bring-it through well written words!

The letter was sent out about a week ago. No response from the dealership, though I am not sure there is any motivation to respond at this point. I do hope, however, that there was a serious talking-to from the head haunchos to this Sales Manager behind closed doors.

weltall 06-23-2009 09:39 PM

ill have to see if im going there first and ill hit you up

g96818 06-24-2009 03:31 AM

wow, and you "aren't a customer" lol

Crash 06-24-2009 03:33 AM

You should send it straight to Nissan! By-pass that dealership mess. Let them know they almost lost a sale (and possibly more because you're a big forum member)!

cossie1600 06-24-2009 10:57 AM

trust me, they don't give a flying f#?k.

LOANMAKER 06-24-2009 11:36 AM

I read your letter! Wow!!!! I was out of town last year visiting my brother who is stationed up in savannah, i bought my vehicle there and was dealing with the same delaership. Infact, i was dealing with the same sales manager and i have to say i think you are completely wrong about him. This guy went way out of his way to help me. Infact, while i was visiting there i heard nothing but great things about the dealership from other merchants in town. I think your letter is a little silly about decails, but hey "different strokes for different folks". Well i hope you enjoy your new ride! I know i cant wait for my coupe lease to finish up, because i plan to get the exact car that you have.(it too was described in your letter). Home you arrive safe from your duty station in japan!

KidD 06-24-2009 12:10 PM

Hey, thank for the heads up sir. I know all of us in the cav love our sports cars, and it seems like one in every three soldiers buy a brand new car while on 30 days leave after Iraq. I can already see the 370Z being one of the biggies this time around, and no one I know will be buying one from that place. Like someone else said, we stick together!
