change for 2010?? Any???
So I went to order my 370z yesterday finally with my VPP in hand. We sit down and start talking about the configuration and rough numbers (which I had done on the phone a week ago so I knew already it was a good deal). So they ask for the deposit and I tell them I want to test drive a Z one last time just to make sure. So I go for the test drive. Not as good as the first time I drove it but there really isn't any car out there I would buy for the same money. So I say lets go ahead with the deal. Again they ask for the deposit and hand them my credit card. The guy comes back in 5 min with another lady. She starts to tell me that they can't give me a finalized price on my order as my car would not be a 2009 but rather a 2010. Being that it will be next years car the pricing may changed and they wanted me to be aware of that. Thought that was nice but they couldn't tell me how much as 2010 info won't be out until July 1st. Not in any hurry I said well call me on July 1st with the new price before I say yes.
So I figure the price may go up slightly being that it will be a 2010 invoice may be raised from Japan. I wondering if anyone else has ran across this recently or could confirm this. Based on 2009 prices I was getting the car for something like 700-800 under invoice. My other thoughts are what changes to 2010 are there going to be? I'm hoping to get yellow but I've heard some rumors that yellow may be a 2009 only color. Now I'm thinking I may have to put off my order until I know full well what is going to be changing for 2010. Any thoughts? |
I believe it's been discussed and when I purchased my Z (the yellow one, that is) the dealer told me yellow was a one year color scheme. So, I am pretty confident in saying that there wont be any yellow 2010 models. Maybe a similar yellow but not a Chicane color.

Can't go to another dealer?

you gotta remember that dealers lie all the time. You may in fact be able to still order your car.
There's more money in the 10's than the 09's if they can sell that instead. |
The wheels are different for 2010. I saw them, look a little funky!

PERHAPS>..
Like the Celica 00-01(Had the highest revving celica for the GT-s) with gray interior 02(Had shitty gt-s rev of the years) with gray interior 03(GT 1zz_fe engine built stronger, 03 GT-s higher rev limiter than the 02 not as high as the 01) dark gray interior 04(same gt and a little better gt-s) dark gray interior 05( same gt and crappy GT-s with lowest rev limiter again) dark gray interior. |
^Not to mention a drastic front bumper change in 03 with the TRD kit and even the stock. I don't think we'll see a major exterior change in the Z for a few years.
I think there might be some Anniversary and "born on date" plaque options for 2010, and that might knock prices up $500-$1000 dollars or more. |
It will be the 40th Aniversary of the Z Car. So look for a special color, Some slight emblem change. I'm sure they will have a 40th Aniversary car.

Well see, I really don't care about any special edition anniversary cars or other things like that. Mainly I want my yellow Z. I've been planning on a yellow 370z since I first saw it last year. Now that I finally have all my ducks in a row to buy it I can't find it anywhere. It's crazy how rare yellow is, let alone in a touring 6 speed manual. I've found several yellow auto's but no way I'm getting this car in automatic. I've got them working on one that I located out of state. If not I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens on July 1st. The lady at the dealership told me today that on the 1st they should be able to see what changes if any are made for 2010. I'll keep everyone posted if and when I find out anything.

thats frustrating man, keep us informed...

If Nissan holds true to form, a color might be dropped or changed. The 350Z lost one color from 2003 to 2004 ( Brickyard). My guess is that the yellow disappears or a new premium color takes it's place.

anyone know/think they'll add the cooling seats for the Touring Models w/ Sports Pkg in the 2010 Model like they'll have it in the 370Z Roadster?
|
scruffy....I am holding out to find out that very thing....I don't know though.
I am waiting to hear if AC seats are available while hoping that persimmon won't be discontinued....... |
280/300z: There is a yellow sport touring 6sp here in denver.
see this link......ask for jason and tell him that matt sent you (i have been talking about ordering one from him for a while now) NissanUSA.com |
Since the dealer that was supposed to order my car failed miserably to not only *not* place my order but also never informed me of this until just a few weeks ago, I bailed and am searching high and low for the car that I have been waiting since early March for. Delivery was slated for July 2nd so I'm really feeling this one! :shakes head:
The window for ordering 09 models is closing in a few weeks but I was able to find out more information on the '10 models. Take it with a grain of salt but I personally viewed a document that listed the following for the new model year: Colors available: Silver, Blue, Black, Pearl White, Red. Not sure about Platinum but yellow was definitely missing. The new premium color is Black Cherry (yes!), same as what is offered on the roadster. Leather Options: Black, frost (grey) and persimmons There will be a 40th anniversary package offered for additional cost though. Details were thin, all I could see was special badging and this was tied to the premium color (had to buy them together). The '10 models will arrive in late November. The 40th anniversary (w/Black Cherry paint) will not be orderable until 1/10/2010). I did not see any other changes listed though I would not be surprised to see a few mechanical tweaks (oil cooler maybe? Please??) I asked the dealer what differences in prices were expected and he said that a 2% bump would not be out of the question. How about keeping the price the same in this crappy economy? |
The 2010 are supposed to be available Nov 13. I wonder if the 40th anniversary will get a bump in hp since the car is being released in Jan 2010. The 35th anniversary was also released in Jan after the normal Nov release and it ended up having more hp, but of course the higher hp engine ended being more trouble and was quickly replaced with a better engine.

Green, or "Midori" in Japanese, is in some contexts associated with work for hire. (Translation: prostitution.) In Chinese, green is symbolic of a cuckolded husband. In this country, all the dark green Ford Tauruses that were ever built were sold to single men. (Not necessarily gay -- just single.) Next time you're on the road, check it out. ;P It's funny how this works. White in China is symbolic of death, not life. (For that, you have to go to red.) I think a lot of people could chime in with cultural/regional/ethnic quirks, but the hardest one I've run into all along is the taboo on greens. So while I'd also like to see a jade-colored Z, I doubt the Japanese could bring themselves to producing one. (But :ugh2: there's always Earl Schieb!) |

Funny you should mention this. Talked with my dealer today and they are fighting to get this car. Apparently the dealer in denver doesn't want to let it go but my dealer thinks they will be able to make a deal for a swap tomarrow. So I guess we'll see when they call. I've kind of given up at this point. I've talked to two other dealers and none will do any orderes until end of this week or begining of next. They all state that the 2010 info will be available shortly and that once that info is given then they can place orders for 2010. I've got one dealer that tells me this friday he'll have the info and another dealer telling me they will have the info next wednesday. I've pretty much decided not to stress anymore about trying to get yellow. I spent all weekend and the last two days searching, calling, and doing what I can to try and get this car. Finally today I said to myself stop. If it happens it happens. Since I have peoples lives in my hands I can't afford to be distracted. So as of today I said screw it. If I get a call about a yellow one then cool, if not I'll wait for when I can place an order for a 2010 and get blue. Car buying is supposed to be fun and exciting but this has just turned into one clusterfuck of an experience. I'll keep everyone posted if and when I get any 2010 info, although it seems like Zpoint already got the scoop |
The one option I know of is the vented seats that have been advertised for the 2010 Convertible, otherwise i haven't heard of anything else as of yet

That's all pretty interesting, but how do you explain Kawasaki Green? |

ZPOINT: Is there any way you can confirm that Platinum Graphite will be available? I makes a difference as to whether I order now or wait.
ATC5079: Where have you heard that the coupes get the AC seats too? thanks matt |
I cant see them getting rid of the Platinum Graphite, I think that has to be or at least one of the top selling colors. I am about a couple days away from just giving up on finding the exact 2009 model. Though being on this site and looking at everyone play with their cars is making me pretty freaking jealous :p

|
MKDIEHL- Regarding the heated/cooled seats I had seen the info regarding the 2010 vert, I have not seen any info as to whether they will be in the coupe, though I would assume that they would be offered in the coupe as well. Sorry for not being more clear about that in my earlier post. Hope this helps

So they will release details on the 2010 model on July 1st will they?
It will be interesting to see what's different. Keep us posted. |

But my 380Z (next model?) will be red, because all the bugs that massacre themselves on the snout all have a little drop of someone's red blood in them. I can't believe it -- we've had 2 white cars recently, an ML-320 and a TSX -- but this one just magnetizes bugs. You finish a Zaino, drive around the corner, and ... a dozen new ornaments. Also, some bugs like to randomly light on the paint, then they quickly cook to death in the heat. Come out in the morning and there's a couple dozen loose deadies scattered on the upper surfaces. This hasn't happened with any other car we've owned -- by a magnitude of 3-4X.:wtf2: |

I took a 4 hour drive dow to tampa for HIN and there were some many (as you say) deadies on the front of my car and we went to lunch in tampa and i looked out the window and saw birds eating all the bugs on my car, i was like cool... eww, just wanted to say that, that's all |
