All I'm trying to get at is that you need to modify your list of demands or bump up your budget. Just trying to save you time. |
please be more realistic with your prices.... depending on your taxes, at around 8% tax, that's asking for the car for around $31,000, which people are getting for a BASE + sport manual. you're asking for another 6 or 7,000 in options for the same price.

Some people here need to calm down. I created this thread asking for assistance with my pricing and everyone is jumping on my back about how ridiculous it is. Thats why I created the damn thread, to modify either what I'm looking for or the price I'm willing to pay for it. I never once said "I'm paying 34.5k whether you like it or not". Since I got royally screwed in my last deal OVER-paying, I was going to try to play the dealers game and make him come to me with a good price, not the other way around.
Anyway I got my information, 34.5k will only get me a base model + sports. I could probably factory order one custom built with leather seats and wait 6 months to get it, by which time the 2012's would be coming out so I dont think I'll do that. Speaking of which a dealer told me they had 2012 brochures in hand, and that absolutely nothing was changing for 2012, not even a new color. He also sounded kind of clueless, so I'm gonna try to get my hands on this thing, but has anybody seen one? |
For reference purposes, I got a new 2010 , black on black, Auto,Sport,Nav, all options (mats, sport brakes, illuminated door sills,etc..) for 39K including tax OTD, in January this year. Didn't have to nego too much.. if u have cash, u are in driver's seat.
If financing, get your pre-approval beforehand u have bargaining power. Else, you will be at the dealer the entire day.. and haggling over few dollars, not worth it in my opinion. |
Cash doesn't always help I had and put down 25k and they tried talking me out of putting that much down. Certainly didn't care if it was cash or not, cash doesn't have the same weight as it once did.

So basically you want the most expensive Z they make... Sport/Touring with Nav 7AT. And you were talking about paying $34,500 OTD for it. That's ridiculous, and everyone was just letting you know, that if you had actually looked around at all like going to edmunds.com and do "price with options" you would know how utterly ridiculous that is, i.e. "do some research." |
The leather seats only come in the touring package. The back up cam in the nav screen of course you need nav. However you can get the back up cam from the factory without nav even on the nismo but the image will be in the rear view mirror and not the nav screen as you don't have it. One change for 2012 is a small oil cooler so that salesmen doesn't really know what he was talking about.

Quite the contrary. If you just dress well and ask nicely enough, a car salesman will just throw away a month's salary to help you finance your dream car. :roflpuke2::roflpuke2::roflpuke2: I mean, that's just my experience. My salesman pulled his kid out of college so that I could get a good deal on a Z. :roflpuke2::roflpuke2: |

And it doesn't even have to be a slow-mover or something they already have on the lot! They'll be ecstatic to special-order something straight from the factory that is painstakingly optioned to your exact specifications just to lose money on selling it to you, those sweethearts! |
