The Z is a low-volume production car, likely with fairly thin margins for Nissan. That means not a lot of money to fund an extensive R&D for it. Throw in a damaged production schedule and parts/paint shortages across the Nissan lineup and the resultant need to focus on cars that have higher sales volume and more profit and you have a low refresh rate.
I'm sure Nissan, somewhere, has an upgrade schedule for the Z. No doubt the tsunami disrupted that. As it stands, sales of the 370 are so crappy that one has to wonder whether Nissan is just going to keep the car as-is until they cost-account the assembly line and molds, then flush it. |
