That's BS. My dealer went over all the numbers, trade-in, down payment and monthly payments set before they even asked for a down payment. Asking you to put down money on a car without a disclosed price is absolutely ludicrous.

I know it was one of the most offensive things I had heard. After not being able to find what I wanted in his lot I inquired about ordering a build. I asked what he would charge for a 2010 Red Touring with Nav, Mats, and kicks.... i asked what kind of number and he said "Oh I cant disclose that number you would have to come in and after going over what you wanted we could get a deposit from you and talk numbers."

I was like WTF! I am by far not an expert negotiator but that sounded so ridiculous. Oh yeah let me agree to put a deposit on a car that costs "X" amount of dollars..thats sounds like a deal, where do I sign. Im about fed up with the BS.
