In all likelihood, there is probably some VAT or additional tax on imports that might be due as well if importing but I am just speculating...
Think its bad there...in Hong Kong, entry level "import" luxury vehicles are crazy expensive - can be multiple six figure US$ as I've heard...I'm talking about 5 year old used base Porsche 911s, some BMWs. |

In England quite a few people import cars from Japan, they are then set up to meet the UK legal requirements and the buyer normally saves himself a bit of money.
