LOL - my wife is a pharmacist and she was ready to go work as a receptionist at a local Porsche dealership partime so I can get my discount

You will get even greater discount if you work for the dealership.

No problem guys. I haven't bought my car yet so I don't have first hand knowledge. I got the claim form and hope to visit a participating dealer shortly to see how it goes.

AK - please feel free to edit as needed. I am not really good with this stuff

I am NOT in front of my computer at the moment. So, when I go home, I will research and post more info. Here's what I found from website:

Quote:
Nissan VPP Program
The VPP program enables you to purchase a Nissan vehicle at a pre-negotiated price, and it makes the process virtually hassle-free. Just get a VPP Claim Number, take the claim number to a participating dealership and select the vehicle you want. You’ll enjoy VIP treatment throughout the purchase process—and drive home in a beautiful new Nissan.
The Answers

Q. Who qualifies under the Vehicle Purchase Program?
A. The following people qualify as employees of Nissan North America,
Inc. (NNA) business associate companies are:
  • Direct, full-time employees of companies in the continental United
States and Alaska that are engaged in direct business with Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) or any of the Nissan Affiliate companies.

  • Direct, full-time employees of authorized Nissan and Infiniti
dealerships in the continental United States and Alaska.

Participants must reside in the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska.

Q. I want to know how much the car I want will cost. Can my business contact at Nissan provide me with price quotes?
A. No. VPP vehicle pricing can be obtained only through a Nissan or Infiniti dealership. When you present your VPP claim form at the dealership, you are entitled to see the invoice of the vehicle you are interested in buying.

Q. What if I want to purchase accessories? Will I get a discount?
A. No. There is no pre-negotiated VPP price for dealer-installed accessories. Prices for Dealer-installed accessories are negotiable between you and the dealership.

Q. How can I find out if VPP incentives are being offered on the car I'm interested in?
A. For information on current VPP incentives, click on the Incentives on the left or call VPP headquarters at (800) 299-4753.

Q. Can the value of my trade-in be used to further reduce my purchase price?
A. No. The value of a trade-in can be used to pay for your vehicle purchase, but it cannot be used to determine your purchase price. Your trade-in must be handled as a transaction separate from the VPP price calculation.

Q. How do I finance a vehicle if I purchase or lease through the VPP?
A. Financing is handled the same way it is with non-VPP purchases. You can work with the dealership to obtain financing, or you can obtain financing on your own through a bank or credit union. If you choose to finance through the dealership, normal credit standards will apply.

Q. Can I lease a vehicle through the VPP?
A. Yes. If you lease through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation or Infiniti Financial Services, a special lease incentive may apply. If so, any available VPP retail core incentive will not apply to your transaction.

Q. How can I find out if VPP incentives are being offered on the car I'm interested in?
A. For information on current VPP incentives call VPP headquarters at (800) 299-4753 to obtain your Login ID and password then click on the Incentives link on the left.

Q. What if I lose my Claim ID Number?
A. Please contact VPP Headquarters at 1-800-299-4753.

Hmm it doesnt say anything about ordering a car. I wonder if this program would apply if you want to order a car from the factory at the dealership.

Hmm, I don't see why you couldn't but I don't have first hand experience. I am planning to use VPP to order from factory.

Default I used this program.

I purchased my Z using this program along with the ZAG American express benefits as well. Was able to purchase my Z Base with sport package, tire locks, carpeted trunk / premium floor mats etc for 31K base before trade in.

It looks like the A-Plan normally is available only to Nissan employees. But, for Sep/Aug there was a special deal where the A-Plan ($1500 off invoice) was available for family and friends of Nissan employees. According to my friend who works for Nissan, it has ended . I want to buy a 370z starting first thing 2012, but i assume at that point the C-Plan is the only one available. Which i still think is a good deal.

I don't believe so - I think for business associate purchases, you have to be employeed directly by the company (ie. doesn't work for friends and family and have to be actively employed - can't even be a contractor...). - I could be wrong.

I purchased my G VPP and doing the same with the 370 as well, both preorder. Very simple process. Print your claim form and take it to the dealership, you drop a deposit and they order the car. What I have had both dealers do is find a similar optioned vehicle via search and use that vehicles vin for prepricing purposes just to give me a ball park since the true vin of the preorder car is not yet known. When the vehicle arrives you close on the deal as you normally would. In all honesty on some vehicles you can do better than VPP but on new releases it eliminates all of the negotiation as it is a prenegotiated price. And, since I really hate the going back and forth aspect of this process it really works for me. Not the very best deal but a better deal than anyone can get with no negotiation right off the street. Review all aspects of the VPP website and it should answer all of your questions. Make sure you click on business associates at the top and the incentives login/password is "vendor" for both. Happy shopping.

Here is what the final numbers sheet looks like for a fully loaded 6MT touring will all available options.

Had a sales guy claim on the phone that the 370Z and GT-R aren't covered by the VPP program. Guess I'll find out soon enough, if my HR department ever figures out what our company code is.

Likewise for my HR department. There is no one there who is "in charge" so it will take a little effort but well worth it!

If one Z was sucessfully purchased this way, then there is no reason why we can't find a participating dealer!
