That means 2020 is the end of the line unless they made a goof. Probably will stop making the Z34 before the end of the year if not already, and then the Tochigi factory would convert over to Z35. My understanding is that Z35 production was scheduled to begin in September 2021.
Yup, that's the reason I started this thread. That said, they don't need 11 months to retool the factory, normally retooling takes about 2 months.

The Z35 beginning production in September 2021 will obviously be a 2022 model. You would think there is lots of time, from now until say May or June to be producing 2021 Z34s.

Why would they bother for a car that now sells in such tiny volumes? With the price discounting that has taken place on the 370Z over the years (at least here in Australia) the margin can't be that high on each sale, and there are plenty in the used market to satisfy any ongoing demand.

In fact, as someone with a 2020 built 370Z, I hope they do stop making them this year as I'd love to have one of the last Z34s built, the end of an era. The less 370Zs around new, the better the exclusivity for existing owners.

It's really not a problem if there is a year or so between when the last Z34s are produced and when the first Z35s go into production. That will give all the dealers around the world a decent chance to sell all remaining Z34 inventory, and build hype for the Z35.
