Bad day on the I-8 Freeway...
Bad day on the I-8 freeway in SD. It was raining, my Z was oddly merging on its own onto the right lane wherein I was at the middle lane. On those few seconds, I noticed a black beemer I tried to avoid and from there, I lost control of the car when the VDC kicked in.
Insurance still has to see the vehicle. As far as damages goes, it does not look big on the photos, but are major if you saw it personally. All of the damages are on the driver side; front and rear wheel, front and rear axle, side skirt, bumper, suspension and toe kit, seat belt which ripped out and the airbags did not deploy, and some loud hissing noise coming from the engine. Came out without a scratch, and still waiting what the insurance will say.

Sorry to see. Glad you're ok, though.
You say the car started to merge on its own... hydroplane?

Glad to hear you are alright. Ever since I spun out rain makes me a bit nervous when I have my summer wheels on.
It will be back to looking like new before you know it |

Thanks for the concern guys.
To answer some questions: 1) Yes, it is the UAM CF Amuse kit 2) Could be hydroplane, also I'm still rockin my stock tires at 25k and I was in the process of having a set of RE-11 installed. 3) Mostly cosmetic damage, I'm just worried about the axle, toe kit, suspension and the loud hissing noise from the engine bay. I'll keep everyone posted for updates. If the car needs replacement depending on my insurance's decision, the replacement most likely wont be a Z34 anymore. What spooks me the most was I was going 55mph, and the bags didn't even bother deploying...

That depends on many variables that don't always depend on speed. Great to see you are ok, it is never fun to go through this.

It doesn't look like the damage was severe enough to trigger the airbags. It's probably a good thing too. Having it deployed isn't exactly like resting your head on a pillow. I've seen people walk away with their face bruised up after it's deployed. It's meant to save your life, not prevent injury. It also looks like you skimmed of the barrier... in which case, the impact would have been a lot less (maybe equivalent to a 5-10mph impact)than a head on 55mph impact. If it were a 55mph impact, the driver seat and passanger seat would be occupying the same space. You don't know how lucky you are. Best of luck in getting her fixed.
