Probably the switch has come unplugged or knocked out of alignment. Switch is located below right side hood latch. You will need to remove the trim piece between the radiator and bumper cover (13 body rivets) to get to it.

Edit: I don't think there is a reset procedure. Light should go out once you fix the switch and close the hood. If not, let me know.

First thing I would do is check for a DTC and clear if present. I don't think this would trip a DTC but maybe it does. It's very easy to check/clear if you have an OBD scanner handy and you don't have to remove the trim panel.

If that doesn't clear the light, I'd check switch operation with a voltmeter or ohmmeter. While I was there, I'd check and make sure the connector was plugged in properly.

If all else fails, remove the connector from the switch. Probably need to short the pins, but I haven't looked at the schematic. Not the best option but should work if the rest of the wiring is intact.

Define "easy."

Doesn't get much easier than plugging in a scanner and pushing a few buttons.

Pulling the trim panel can be slightly difficult the first time you do it but is really pretty easy once you figure out you have to pull up on the bumper cover and lift the front of the panel to get it out. No screws or bolts, just the 13 body rivets (if you have strong fingernails, you don't even need any tools).

With the VOM, you are looking for open/close transitions and not some particular value.

Many members in Australia have experienced the same issue. It happens when you turn the car on and the 3 front impact sensors are still disconnected i.e. when you install an oil cooler and check for leaks with the bumper removed and sensors disconnected or install intakes which require bumper removal.

You are in luck as there is a simple procedure to follow to turn the light off. I have done it successfully twice now.

So for the record, some cars must not have it, right?

Cause I drove with no bumper for about a week and no lights came on. And I tried driving with the hood up. Obviously that didn't go well.
