Besides, 47% of all statistics are made up on the spot ![]() |

I would like to know the age of the people who rated it low to buy another and I would also like to see their next choice.
My bet is they are young and their next car is a four-door 'cause the wife or GF they picked up in the Z is preggers. See myself in the mirror when I had my 300Zx.

I've driven 14 of the cars on that list...still haven't gotten a chance to drive the stingray...haven't had the Mercedes or mx-5, no fiat...But I think there is pride in that list...the V6 challenger is by far one of the biggest dogs I've ever driven, if not the biggest...camaro rs isn't far behind. The Porsches top it because Porsche people are like jeep guys (I own a 2009 Wrangler Unlimited that was my first build and had I not gotten my Z it'd still be where my expendable income which is incredibly far from being remotely expendable would reside) The 1 series is pretty fun and feels very tight and nimble, but it's a sports car I'd get for my fiancee...doesn't have much soul/that something special my clunky gearboxed temperamental Z has.
The only car I can say which I've had nearly the same amount of fun in is the fr-s/brz...those are an absolute blast and provide that something extra that you just can't put your finger on. The 370 is one of the last of a dying breed, which I guess makes me the last of a dying breed. Give me that 3rd pedal with power to the rears that actually demands attention any day over a pdk. We are lucky to enjoy one of the last true "driver's cars"... My ultimate guess - the Z owners polled are frightened by the car's rough edges or simply don't feel what is so special about that roughness |

That rating probably reflects the fact that half the people who bought the Z secretly wanted a Mustang, so...
Anyway, I wanted a Z and am glad I was able to get a Z.

I wonder if the survey was done at one of the audiences of the "Family Feud"....survey says...and most times who cares because they are so innacurate , I'm happy with my Z and if i crash it I would get another one just like it and this comes from a guy who since high school have been boying new cars right out of the box....

I apologize if this is somewhere else on here (it probably is) but I think this is a pretty thought provoking article that more or less summarizes the failure of appreciation for the Z instead of the car itself when read from a driving enthusiast's POV...

Funny that all of his reasons not to buy a Z are my reasons to buy a Z. Of course I could have gotten a FRS for "$8,700 less" (which if I even went that route I would have gotten the more premium BRZ with leather + other features) and that would have actually turned out to be only $3000 less than what I got my Z for (I got a quote and almost put a down payment for it). After test driving a Z it was a REALLY tough decision to make there, bro. ![]() Needless to say I ended up driving the Z home that same day :P |

A recent rumor claims the Z35 will be a 2+2 (I'm happier with 2 fewer seats, but vestigial ones won't bother me), and that is also a logical issue for folks who bought the Z, but then needed to trade it in for something with back seats. Actually, of all the random articles I've read that talked smack about the Z34, that one seemed the most reasonable. Only the title is a little on the harsh side, but the points made are fair ones.

V8. I called garbage on this article... why don't muscle cars go turbo v6 for better Fuel economy and equal power of the v8? Easy answer... V8 heritage... So why the FUKK is this writer asking Nissan to leave Japanese heritage of the 6 configuration. Inline, v or turbo 6 are options. V8's in a Z is out Secondly, the whole appeal of the Z is to be a low slung two seat sport coupe, that's a direct competition to boxster, Cayman, corvette, not mustang. The Z us a niche car. Yes, 7500 units a year is very low. But 80,000 units should not be the Z goal. 15,000-20,000 units max annually is the proper goal for this type of niche vehicle. So full mustang stats when talking about a Z. The only issue that's valid is the Z is underpowered for the price. So either bring the Z to a $28,000msrp or add turbos n start it at $34,000. The FRS/BRZ IS UNDERPOWERED & OVERPRICED as well. So I laugh at there comparo. First n second year sales will always be high due to fanboy purchases. Every year after that is average Joe consumers with a very low percentage of fanboys. The twins should start at $23k n top out at $27k... The Z is outdated in power... Yes. But at least it didn't enter that way. Remember the stanh wasn't supposed to see the 5.0 till 2013, because the Z was killing mustangs in 09, running with the brand new SS, and beating the challenger r/t in a straight line. The muscle cars are volume sellers and have more room for flexibility. The made annual changes that made it faster than the Z. Nissan messed up when, the made stupid DRL n fascia upgrades instead of smoothing out VVEL, increasing gear ratios, SUSPENSION TUNE and loudening up the exhaust. The 2015 NISMO is what the regular Z should have been in 2013 and the NISMO should be 400 HP. But not because it's not as good as a stang. It's because it should have been progressive. But again. Sales were weak. It was a doubled edged sword for the Z. Hopefully NISSAN will go FI next gen n problem solved.
