370z rates nearly last on CR's owner satisfaction survey

Consumer Reports ranked the 370z sixth in the overall ranking of sports cars, but what is really surprising is how low it rated in the percentage of owners who would definitely purchase the same vehicle again. It came in next to last behind the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. It kind of begs the question, why?

My guess is people wanting to step up to a more powerful/mod friendly platform

Nothing wrong with the results. I'm happy with mine but if I were to get another sports car it would be a different one not because I hate it or it is bad but simply to try something faster and with more finesse perhaps. Plus you're talking about a car that is on the end of it's lifecycle. If they did this survey in 2010 it would do better.

I would agree. Once you mod that V6 if you don't go FI you're going to crave a V8. Shoot if you do FI I think it's natural to want a bigger engine eventually.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Look at the BS problems corporate doesn't choose to solve... It took... 4 years to have a recall on the steering wheel lock, and still some cars aren't covered

Nissan is very good with innovation with cars but if problems arises they give you deaf ears!

I agree with most of the list but....a Fiat 500? ...a Ford Focus?
I don't think many of our forum members look forward to the day when we can trade up to one of those.

I agree the last time I checked the Fiat 500 tops the list of Cars with problems.

The focus hatch is SOOOOOO fun to drive, I had one as a rental for like 10 days, man it was fun chucking that thing around

:iagree:

Advertising also might have an influence, as it helps build and maintain ownership hype. Nissan spends more time trumpeting the Altima and Juke.

Have you seen the color combinations you can order a Juke in? Makes me jealous.

Agreed 100%. CSC failures are another issue that corporate refuses to acknowledge as a poor design.

sorta sad but sorta glad... i think this shows the education of the modern 'sports' car buyer. they are looking for a mixed use car with a heavier leaning tendency to the 'sedan'

i wanted a true coupe which i define as 2 doors 2 seats. miata or s2000 were the only other viable options and well... yea...

Zipper 104 12-03-2014 08:15 AM

Well...

I bought my Z in August.
When I look at that list there is not one car I'd buy other than the Z. And it isn't like I'm exactly enamoured with it.
I wouldn't buy anything domestic with a V8; the Porsches are way more than I'm willing to pay and I won't pay the service bills, same goes for anything else European. Miata and Fiat??? Sorry, I'm not gay. Hyundai Genesis? Nope.
BRZ, FRS or whatever else they call 'em? Too plain Jane. If I was to go that route I'd rather have bought a Mazda 3 or a Golf.
The only other car I really gave any thought about getting isn't exactly a sports car....Nissan Maxima. Just my opinion.
