I always park in my garage at home so no dent is possible there. I strongly believe it happened two days before christmas which is when I went to school for an exam and left it park in the school garage. I mean I think the alarm would go off after a dent and the this is the only scenario where I wouldn't hear the alarm go off.

Fast forward to today, I don't know what to do. I don't have that much extra money to repair cost. My deductible would be $500 as I have two way insurance but I don't know if its worth it. I don't know where to go from here. Have not called cops or insurance yet.

I think he meant two days before Thanksgiving.

But yea, sorry for your situation, cant really tell where the damage is in that photo, but if its just the rear bumper you might find a used one rather cheap, just keep an eye out for one in your area.

Yeah I meant thanksgiving. I was in a rush typing it up. I don't know much about cars but glad to pick a 370z and joined this forums. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I'm probably just going to pop it up and let it be an eyesore until i can fix it myself or something. I checked out the AM-S rear bumper and saw its about 350 - 400 to get it to my doorstep. Even then I think you hve to repaint it and stuff and I have no idea how to repaint it. I prolly have to hire shop for that which could cost alot i dunno.

But hearing your comments make me feel a bit better. I recently installed a dashcam too but it only covers the front. Im wondering if i should invest in a cam for the back now.. =/

This is what kills me. People with lack of integrity and morals. Not to mention you parked far away where other vehicles will not be close to the proximity of your car. I do the same if I am going to be more than a few minutes at a certain location. One thing I have learned is not to take my Z out for specific reasons and specific times. Anything related to going out at night; bar, club, dinner, movies etc etc. I just don't do it anymore because of people who do these kind of things. I don't know if the sensitivity can be adjusted on the factory alarm, but if it can I would do so.

Your rates if you do file a claim may or may not go up depending on your location, when I was in Hawaii a hit and run would increase your rate, when I was stationed in Texas it would not. Also did you file a police report? Some insurance companies require a police report within 14/30 days of the incident. Based off what I can see on the picture this looks like vandalism. Your deductible is going to be cheaper than replacing it yourself. If it were me, I would file a claim, cash the check, get aftermarket bumper, and paint it while it is not mounted. Then install it myself, might have a few bucks to pocket since repair shops charge for removal and installation labor. If your insurance company allows this, some do some don't, when I had a local insurance company when I was younger they allowed this, now I am with a bigger company so it is not allowed. Either way sorry about this, and if you don't want to file a claim, definitely check out paintless dent repair, my buddy does this and they do some awesome work.

Yah get it fixed under comp.

Rate might go up if damage is in excess of 500..
