Default What other cars are on par with the 370z?

I was curious, without being bias. Honestly what other vehicles are on par or exceed the performance and cost effectiveness of a 370z?

I am trying to decide what my next car should be coming from a 350z and I cant really find other cars that are....

-Faster
-Better looking
-More fun to drive
-Have as much potential
-Cost the same

As a 370z. I was looking for some suggestions. For example would buying a used infinity G35 and modding it, or getting a civic Si and adding a turbo to it, be a better option than a 370z? I know alot of websites claim the Mustang 5.0 is faster and more cost effective than a 370z, but to me im not really a fan of big, bulky american cars.

For me,when I was looking for a vehicle,it was a toss up between getting a g37 coupe or the 370. I was trying to decide if I wanted to give up the back seat or keep it,then I came across a good deal on a 370. And I couldn't be happier.
To be honest, your not going to find a lot of people on here that aren't going to say to go with the 370z.

I used to be a huge Mustang fanboy. I drove my friends 2010 Mustang for a little bit, and couldnt wait to go back into my 370Z.
Some people might say the new Hyundai Genesis, but the 370Z looks sexier in my opinion.

How about a used Porsche Cayman S. They are comparable in price. Service is a little pricey but, you might be able to do some yourself if you are so inclined.

I read the Genesis 3.8 is actually faster than the 370z, is that true? But I cant get over that badge.... Hyundai's always seem "cheap" to me.

I doubt you will find any that match all of your criteria, especially the subjective ones like better looking. As far as price, are you comparing a new 370 cost or a used cost? For $40K, there are some better cars out there but you;d have to buy used. I will say that a Porsche Boxster S or Cayman S is a better car - a 2009-2011 models are excellent all the way around. Looks, well, maybe not for everyone. A BMW Z4 sdrive 35i or 35is is a gorgeous car and with a tune can make over 400hp (300-333hp stock) and prices for a 2010-2012 are about the same.

I you wanted to build a car up, I'd look at the BRZ or FRS and add forced induction. It's a gorgeous car and gloriously fun. With a bit more power it would be pretty awesome, and cheaper than the others.

And the websites are right - the best bang for your HP dollar is the Mustang GT. The 2015's are simply excellent. But I couldn't own one either.... LOL.

I looked at all of these and traded my 2003 M3 for a 2010 370Z Roadster. I wanted a roadster and after driving the Z4 and Boxster, decided on the Z. It was substantially cheaper and just as much fun although definitely rough around the edges compared to the Boxster. I figured if I got a Boxster I'd have wished I would have held out for a 911. So I went with what I thought was the best bang for my dollar - so far loving my roadster!

Would you guys consider a AP2 Honda S2000 in the same leauge as a 370z? The problem is I cant seem to find them with low miles, or they wanna charge WAY too much for them.

0-60 times website has the genesis coupe @ 5.0 & 370 @ 4.6 0-60. So our Z's are a little quicker.

Just looked up the S2000 and the 06 model does 0-60 in 5.4 sec, not bad for a 4 banger, I imagine adding a turbo will make the thing crazy fast!

s2k's are light and tossable, great at the track unless it's a big long high speed track. Technical and medium tracks, the s2ks are really fast. The problem is they are not as fun for DD since you need to rev that engine pretty high to get any power out of it.

To get anywhere close to that 0-60 for the s2000 you would have to do a clutch dump, even then, after getting perfect shifts you would be lucky to get into sub 6 range. I owned an ap2 for 3 years, it was an excellent autocross car but straight line wasn't its niche.

If you are buying use it opens a ton of possibilities, but then again if you are buying used you can also buy a used 370 and put the rest into mods.

The 370 is a well balanced car that is a tool of all trades.
