LOL... Hmm I wonder how many folks felt insecure enough in their purchase to not only take the time of day to make an account here but also bash the forum lol... my count so far is at 5...
Seriously tho - they are both sick cars... need a back seat? like a stock turbo? get the bimmer... dont care for the "luxuries" and want a nimble car for the curves on the road - get the Z... If you care about straight line speed - and you are going to spend < 8k on your car overall -- get the bimmer ... if you are going to spend more get the Z as once they are both FI'd its all about who spends more money and time on their car.. If you are going to keep them stock - its a wash - drive em and pick em... /Thread |

LOL - too funny. Someone obviously posted a link from some Beemer thread to this one
I think its funny when a troll posts he drive's a 370Z and drives something else...Anyhow what I would suggest is keep the Accord and finish school. Buy a house. Once you are financially secure then get your toys. Most of the people I knew who went out and bought their toys when they could barely afford them are still renting and I doubt they'll ever own their own place. That being said... if I was looking for a 4 seater I'd get an '07-08 G35 but I wasn't so I got the 370Z. But really who cares what I got - go test drive both cars! You'll figure it out pretty quick. I think the best test drive ever would be to take the car to a track/autocross and drive the nuts off both of them. That's the only thing that shows you how the car really performs.

Was just in a similiar boat, but was comparing the 370z to the 135i. I was completely torn, 50/50. I had a 300zx and then a 350z for a short time and loved both cars. I really was certain I was going to get a 370z but after driving both cars back to back, a couple times, I fell on the side of BMW.
I really wish I could have both cars. What tipped it for me was the torque and "feel" of the BMW, it drives really nicely, great 6MT. The Z has awesome handling, great acceleration and it really feels like a sports car. The tradeoff for me was that it was also a bit claustrophobic (terrible blind spots, but good side mirrors). You can't go wrong either way, both are going to be a blast to drive. Getting a used car, which is what I did, makes smart financial sense, but having a new car is a nice feeling, especially if it's a sports car, you know nobody has been thrashing it before you got it. Just pick whatever car you feel more comfortable in and enjoy the most, don't worry about appearances. |

That n54 engine is a beautiful engine. I would prefer it to the VQ37VHR in the 370z...except for that HPFP. It feels smoother and that torque is great for mpg and spirited driving. The VQ37VHR has almost a liter more though and after the warranty expires...I will get to pick what kind of FI to put on it
. 480whp on that 370z. I think I just fainted.

2007/08 335i 3L Turbo Inline6 making 300HP for $40,000
or 2009/10 370Z 3.7L V6 making 332HP for $30,000 ![]() Turbo Z's will make 335i's look like yuppie playskool toys. But to each his own.

Yeeeaaah!!! Lets keep this flame war going
!!!!Just kidding. Obviously, everyone here agrees both are great cars. With their own little issues but not deal breakers. I don't own a 135 or 335 so I can't say anything about them from experience. It's not hard to find on the Internet or in magazines that both cars put down similar numbers in just about every category, so you're not losing any performance by choosing one over the other. Practicality is what you really need to decide on. And styling, because lets face it, they look completely different. And those are the questions only you can answer. No matter what you choose in the end, you will have a sweet ride. |

Wow at the digression. Mostly the BMW guys fault for invading this thread, but partially your guys' fault for feeding them.
The discussion at e90post stayed on point and they seemed to be very honest about their opinions. They were almost even in their choices for what car would better suit me. (I am leaning toward the Nissan at the moment because of THEIR advice). Apparently, they respect the 370z for what it is like many of you guys respect the 335i for what it is. Considering a new 370z base with sport package. Do not really care what color as they seem to look good in all of them . Probably will test drive the 370z manual this time and try to get a test drive in a 335i.![]()

Ok, seriously, the 370Z is an amazing machine. Since driving one, I am an official 370Z nutswinger.

If you're looking for a "drivers" car go with the 370z after all it is a true sports car. If you're looking for a nice daily driver that can handle it's own and feels like the closest thing to a sports car take the 335i.
Personally, I would take a 335i in a heartbeat over a 370z. I'd rather have a nice DD with more creature comforts than a potent sports car like the 370z (which is why I got the G instead of the Z). Being in college you also can't ignore the fact that maintenance is free for the first 4yrs/50,000 in the BMW which is a great plus.
