People have the same lack of power complaint about the 370Z, and rightfully so. In 03 the 350Z was putting out 287HP and that was ~10% higher than the 03 Mustang GT. From 04-08 the 350Z was pushed up to 306HP so it stayed close to the other cars in its class in power.

With the 370Z in 09 it was ahead of the Mustang GTs. But when the 11 GTs came out with the 412HP V8s and then bumping it to 420HP, the Z was left behind. Then the Camaros and Challengers came out and both offer more power than the Z. Even the Genesis can come with a NA V6 pushing out 348HP.

Needless to say the BRZ/FRS is below this tier of vehicles that the Z is in. But much like the Z owners compare their car to the performance of the lowest end Porsche, the BRZ/FRS owners compare their car to the sports car on the next price tier up. People just like to feel they got good value for the money spent, in my opinion.

Yes but challengers weigh literally 2.2 tons and the mustang like 3800 or something like that that's a lot of fat *** to move around. They need the extra power.

Yep. Isn't an EVO that boxy looking 4 door with a wing about as high as the roof that I see people driving like they are extras in Fast & Furious ? Who makes it ? Subaru or Mitsubishi ?

Have you ever raced them at the drag strip? I smoke the challengers and beat the 5.0's often. The look on their face is priceless and I have only seen one BRZ there with a turbo setup. He wanted to race me and stated that he ran a 13.8 with it. He asked me what I was running and I told him my best time for the night was a 13.3. He shied away after that with no interest in running against my Z.

From everything I have read, the 5.0 should be faster than our Zs in the 1/4 mile. What were their trap speeds compared to yours?

The coyote 5.0s should beat the 370z in a straight line I think they run 5 sec 0-60

A 13' 5.0 weighs 3622lbs, 0-60mph in 4.3sec and 1/4 in 12.7sec @ 111mph. They come with an actual LSD, and handle alot better than what you guys think.

Specs came from MT, and testing was done with 6mt. I'm sure their auto is a little faster.

All I have to say is the Z likes to run, and its plenty fast....
Went to an event called wannagofast, and I ran against a Porsche 911, base model, 350 HP, a couple of times, the difference was he had me by about 2 miles an hour. I also was against a Jeep SRT V8 and it ended up be the same difference.

The event was simply how fast you could go in a half-mile. the car will hold its own.

:iagree:, I think the Z has enough HP, but wish it came with a little more TQ and about 300lbs lighter.

Awesome, I wish there was somewhere around here with a 1/2 mile straight to just mash the gas for fun on

Also with full bolt ons you can easily get 370-380 HP / 290-300 TQ at crank which ain't bad.

Oh trust me, I had my fun with the Z. Full bolt ons/tuned, almost 350lbs stripped off. It was fast!
