Yeah haha..I just ordered one this afternoon. That's something I should've had a loooong time ago . The dealer also didn't exactly advertisement that this "testing" was going to cost over a hundred dollars either. They told me there was nothing wrong with the car and I was under the impression I would pay nothing or close to it. I let the guy know I wasn't happy. He said if the light comes on again, they will re-run the test for free.

Conclusion: guy said I either had bad gas or it may be due to my "aftermarket air filters", which were in there when I bought the car. The intake itself is oem, but i guess the box filter is aftermarket. I find it strange that the light is just coming on now when I've had the car since January. The tech said the car detected that it was running lean at one point, causing the light to come on.

I usually rest the light myself, but it comes back on after a few hundred miles..sometimes more. It is back on today and I am supposed to be back at the dealer Wednesday morning.

Any idea what is going on here? I've read several times on the forum our cars have a history of issues with the gas cap. I was thinking maybe replace that and see what happens
Jesus Christ people, stop spending your hard earned money at these stealerships and start learning to do things on your own.

Were you able to pull a code it was throwing? If you haven't just go to the local parts store they will gladly do it for you and tell you what could be wrong in hopes you buy the parts from them.

I don't want to make this too simple, but I had this issue a few times early on with my car. I had the dealer check it out and it was "vapor leak" around the gas cap. The SES light is focused on emissions. I started just pressing harder when replacing the gas cap and gave the cap a few extra cranks . Never have had the problem since.

I hope it is as simple as that. I've seen a few guys on here that claimed it was at fault of the gas cap. I find it strange that it comes and goes though..when I put the cap on the same way every timee

I'd clean your MAF sensors and put in OEM air filters or dry after market filters and see if that helps. I'd also get under the car and inspect your exhaust for leaks or damage.
