whoops! Been fortunate here, just happen to see them before they pull behind me on freeway from entrances, or sitting along exits. About the only time I get on it is entering the highway and let's face it, dropping from 70 to 25 to exit is a bit ridiculous. Kind of funny as my mustang was a much more powerful and stand out vehicle and i never got followed...with the Z, they seem to want to just about follow me to my destination regardless of where they picked me up...

I had the same situation pretty recently. My foot accidentally rolled all the way down on the accelerator, then I accidentally drifted around the corner about 200 feet in front of a bike cop.. For some reason he wasn't very sympathetic and tried to write me about $5,000 in tickets on top of an "Excessive Display of Force" ticket. It must have been because I'm not old enough

Shot in Rocklin, CA in 2012 on a nice, sunny day... The nice young officer wanted to have a conversation with me about my "excessive" speed. I informed him that, like everything else, "excessive" is a relative term. I should have clearly received a citation and I told him so. He let me go anyway. I was wearing a suit. That probably did the trick.

It's been a long time since I've gotten any kind of ticket (and I deserved everyone I got). I guess I'm not an aggressive driver anymore except an occasional burst when passing on some two lane highway. But back in the sixties when you could buy 400+ HP cars right off the showroom floor for $3000, most of my money went for gas, tires, oil, and tickets.
My first car was far from new, probably closer to junk but I bought it myself with my $20 per week part time job. 100+ octane premium gas was 20 cents a gallon & good recap tires could be bought for $15 each. I turned sixteen and got my license and first car the same day & I got my first ticket the next day. It should have been reckless driving but the cop cut me a break and reduced it to speeding ($15 instead of $25). There wasn't any kind of points system so you could get many tickets as long as you could pay them. It was my 10th grade year and the tradition for boys was, on your first day of driving to school, you pulled out of the parking lot and laid down a rubber streak as long as you could. Your status at school greatly depended on how long it was so you didn't want to embarrass yourself. Pity the poor guy who showed up with the family sedan.
