When is the best time to get the first oil change?

Changed mine out to redline oil at 2,000-2,500 I believe and manual says every 5k. So upon reaching 5k in 3k miles I will change it again just to keep

So upon reaching 5k in 3k miles I will change it again just to keep it on schedule. The manual for the 2014 says every 5k including the first one but I had to get that junk oil out after I did my research.
