"Mercedes 6 cylinder is going in as the powerplant with direct injection, a new 7 speed rev match manual, 8 or 9 speed auto and the hybrid system on the Q series. If Nissan is not investing in the engine, I doubt they will spend money on a new 7-speed manual. As far as I know, Mercedes doesn't offer any manual. Anyone know whether the current manual transmission is strong enough to be used in a turbo setup? Is there a chance our Z will become the last generation with manual transmission option?
