Don't fall for the someone waiting to buy your car routine. Wife and I been buying cars from dealers for many years. Funny how about 3-4 years into ownership, someone all of a sudden is dying to buy it, but from the dealer. Odd that if the buyer wanted it and saw it, then didn't make contact with us to ask about it. Friends around here get the same letters and e-mails from local dealers...just another marketing ploy IMHO..

For the safety and security of knowing it wasn't abused before you owned it...sort of like advance insurance. Then again, since my dealer sent someone to pick up my Z of choice from different dealer's lot 150 miles away and DRIVE it back, I'll never know. But at least as new, I've got the full 3 years, 36k miles to make a determination!

Here's my opinion. The car isn't going to drive any different than the one you drive now. After the initial feeling of satisfaction, it will fade an you'll be $9k poorer. I have an 11, I'm either buying the redesigned Z whenever it comes out, or I'm buying a vette. I'm sure as hell not buying a 2014 or 2015 Z.

Exactly what is holding me back. On the one hand, new car, new car smell, under 100 miles on odometer. On the other hand, my car is running beautifully and is basically the same car though everything inside and out is 4 years old. There are times when I am tempted and then there are times when I would miss those $9000 when I can think of a vacation or something else that I could spend it. Knowing myself, I doubt I would spend on anything else and so it would go in my retirement funds.

Under 100 miles on odometer? If it isn't far under 100, it isn't a new car IMO--it just hasn't been sold to anyone yet.

What are the reason(s) stopping you from buying the new car? Something is obviously holding you back.

In addition, significant changes have been made to the top-of-the-line 370Z NISMO (see below), including the first-ever available automatic transmission (in addition to the 6-speed manual).

Enhancements for the 2015 model year include:

Two new trim levels: Sport and Sport Tech
Previously available option packages (Navigation, Sport and Bose®) now incorporated into various trim levels
Revised suspension tuning
New black-finished 18-inch wheels (370Z and 370Z Touring)
Navigation now standard on 370Z Touring

If this is your second time getting a Z, get the Nismo. I never see those things anymore, I live in socal and am on the streets everyday and I finally saw one last night and before that I saw one, a year and a half ago.

[QUOTE=bruddahmanmatt;2910188]For what it's worth...

Good to know there is a 2015 coming but will the probable higher price for a 2015 make it better than to purchase a 2014?

The answer was in you all along.

Just put that $9000 aside, add to it for a year or two, then see what happens when a new Z model shows up. If it's great, then you can be one of the first to have one. If it sucks, then you've saved up and can look into other options you may not have been able to afford originally.

I don't see why anyone would by USED in this market. I could barely find a 2-3 year old 370z with 40k+ miles for under $25k where I live. Most of those were base with sport package, touring models were easily $30k+. For reference, my base 370z was $30k OTD.

It's a no-brainer when you get 0% financing on a brand new car and have the piece of mind that nobody has farted in the driver seat aside from yourself

bottomline, if you're worring about a mere $9K, dont do it.

Depends. MSRP goes up every year, but then you don't need to jump to a Touring to get BT anymore, and there a few small updates and upgrades that may offset what one would spend on a '14 in order to get the same amount of equipment. Always better to know what's changing, the more info you got the better.
